Ant-Man lives, and Peyton Reed will be at the helm of the next installment. The director has signed on for Ant-Man 3. Variety reported Saturday.
Reed has directed all of the Ant-Man movies, and his team of actors is returning with him. Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly and Michael Douglas are all expected to reprise their roles in the third movie. This also looks to be the last. Variety reported that Reed was coming back to “wrap up his trilogy.”
Plot details are being kept under wraps. Marvel had no comment on Reed’s return. But, they’ve got other movies coming up long before we get to Ant-Man. So, it’s not a huge surprise. Black Widow and The Eternals are both slotted for 2020. Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness is coming in 2021 and the untitled Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel and Black Panther 2 will hit theaters in 2022. Who said Marvel was done after End Game? Nah.
Although there is no official word on the release of Ant-Man 3… it looks like we’ll get to see it sometime in 2022.
