It’s time to return to Neverland. D23 Expo 2022 unleashed the official poster for the Disney Plus film Peter Pan & Wendy, effectively ramping up excitement for the live-action adaptation of J.M. Barrie’s 1911 novel.
We all know the story — one boy named Peter Pan persuades three siblings, the Darling children, to depart London for Neverland, an enchanted island brimming with magic at every turn. Escapades, hijinks and plenty of derring-do ensue.

Peter Pan & Wendy began production in Vancouver last year, but unfortunately, we won’t see it this year. The flick boasts an impressive cast, including Alexander Molony as Peter Pan, Ever Anderson as Wendy Darling, Joshua Pickering as John Darling, Jacobi Jupe as Michael Darling, Alan Tudyk as Mr. Darling, Molly Parker as Mrs. Darling, Yara Shahidi as Tinker Bell, Jim Gaffigan as Smee, Alyssa Wapanatâhk as Tiger Lily and Jude Law as Captain Hook.
David Lowery takes the helm with a script from Toby Halbrooks and Lowery. Lowery had this to say regarding the project:
“Peter Pan has long been one of my favorite stories, partially because I’ve always resisted growing up, but also because of the heart, adventure and imagination that makes J.M. Barrie’s original tale so evergreen. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to redefine his iconic characters for a new generation — and even more excited that I get to do so with such an exceptional cast and crew.”

While the 2003 adaptation with Jeremy Sumpter as Peter Pan and Jason Isaacs as Captain Hook and, of course, Hook with Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman hold special places in my heart, I’m intrigued about this new version of the story. The cast looks exceptional, and this tale is timeless (but not as old as time).
