Good news, demigods! Disney+ officially renewed Percy Jackson and the Olympians for season 2. Read on to find out what else we know about the next adventure.

Based on the best-selling Percy Jackson and the Olympians books by Rick Riordan, the show follows Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell), a 12-year-old who never fits in. When he learns he’s a demigod and the son of Poseidon (Toby Stephens), he heads to Camp Half-Blood to train with other kids like him. Soon, however, he ends up in the middle of a war between the gods. Percy must travel cross-country and to the Underworld if he wants to save everyone.

Season 1 followed the plot of book 1, The Lightning Thief. While Percy is still coming to terms with his powers, Zeus (Lance Reddick) accuses him of stealing his famous lightning bolt. Together with Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries) and Grover (Aryan Simhadri), Percy sets off to clear his name and save the world.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians premiered on Disney+ with plenty of fanfare and anticipation. The Season 1 finale only dropped last week, so it’s exciting to have a renewal secured already. The news came from Disney CEO Bob Iger during the company’s quarterly earnings call.

Season 2 will most likely follow Percy’s next adventure, The Sea of Monsters. After a year spent trying to keep his new life under wraps, Percy discovers trouble at Camp Half-Blood. A mysterious enemy poisoned the magical borders that protect the only safe haven for demigods from monsters. Percy needs help from his friends, but Grover has been taken prisoner somewhere in the Sea of Monsters — known today as the Bermuda Triangle.
