The young, dashing Alfred Pennyworth is coming back for more. Epix has renewed the edgy one-hour drama, Pennyworth, dedicated to the dangerous early days of Batman’s famous butler. Deadline reported Wednesday.
Pennyworth stars Jack Bannon (The Imitation Game) and Ben Aldridge (Fleabag) as Alfred Pennyworth and Thomas Wayne (Bruce’s father), respectively. Season one also featured Emma Paetz, Hainsley Lloyd Bennett and Ryan Fletcher (Outlander).
The end of Pennyworth’s first season brought drama and a pretty big twist. We won’t spoil it for you, but Alfred narrowly escaped with his life and the future of the crown, quite literally, in his hands. He also looks to be getting into a royally complicated love affair. So, many fans are very excited to see what season 2 might bring.
Pennyworth, season 2, will consist of 10 episodes and start shooting in January.
