One goes, one comes. According to Deadline, Penelope Mitchell has joined the cast of Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen. This news just days after Ed Skrein left his newly cast role. The Neil Marshall directed film has been blasting forward in pre-production with lots of casting news.

Mitchell is set to play the role of Ganeida, an elder witch who stops the wrath of Nimue, aka The Blood Queen. In the comics, the group of witches chop Nimue up into pieces and bury them across the world to keep the body parts from coming back together. Should this be the cast in the film. Mitchell’s role may be in a flashback scene and nothing further. We’ll have to wait and see.

The reboot currently has David Harbour set to play Hellboy himself. In an apparent ‘darker take’ on the character, the film will see Hellboy and a team of paranormal investigators try to save the world from the evil sorceress. That evil sorceress being Milla Jovovitch, set to play the Blood Queen herself and we can’t wait to see what she’ll do in the role.
