Peaky Blinders season 4 is coming. Creator Stephen Knight and cast members Cillian Murphy, Helen McCrory, Adrian Brody and Paul Anderson spoke to Deadline about season 4, the future of the series, and a possible film.

Cillian Murphy related the state of the Shelby Clan to that which we saw in the first season of the series. At the end of season 3, the Shelby’s were raided by police, broken apart and without power. Murphy said,

“These circumstances and the threat from outside mean the family has to regroup again and become good at what they were good at in series one. Obviously all the characters are older and all this water’s gone under the bridge, but I see a lot of parallels to series one and I think I do see as Tommy gets older in terms of his legacy and values and principals, if they were sort of atrophied within him, you can see them sort of beginning to stir.”

Knight talked about the addition of Game of ThronesAiden Gillen who’s character Knight described as “The devil you know”.  That tracks, as Gillen definitely represented that kind of devil in his role as Little Finger.

The subject of season 5 came up as well.  The fifth season has been rumored to be the last.  And, though Knight acknowledged that that was the plan saying, “The thought has long been to finish after Season 5, but the momentum and love for the thing seems to still be growing exponentially and this is making us pause before deciding finally.”  So, there’s hope for die-hard fans that the thing will live on.

That’s not to mention the fact that Knight also said, “We are also keeping our minds open as regards a movie and we are making progress on the musical. Peaky is now a beast that will not die.”  Long live Peaky Blinders

Peaky Blinders season 4 will premiere in the U.K. on BBC 2 November 15th.  U.S. viewers will be able to view season 4 on Netflix sometime after the show airs across the pond.
