Warner Bros. works fast! It’s only been a couple days now that Michelle MacLaren left the director’s chair for one of the WB’s next big films, Wonder Woman, due to creative differences, but the studio has already replaced her. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Patty Jenkins will be taking over the helm of the film, still very much in development at the studio.
Patty Jenkins, who’s biggest film thus far is Monster, starring Charlize Theron, will bring a lot of artistic vitality and validity to the project. She helped get Ms. Theron an Academy Award, after all. Ms. Jenkins was once up for the job of directing Thor: Dark World, but dropped out of the production.
Wonder Woman, starring Gal Gadot as the titular hero, will come out June of 2017.
