Welcome to this week’s installment of F2P Friday, where we highlight our favorite Free-to-Play games. The video game market is oversaturated, and sometimes, hidden gems fall through the cracks. This is where we dig for you and feature a new F2P game we know you will enjoy every week. This week we cook up some Mexican delicacies in the drop-matching game PancitoMerge.

PancitoMerge

You are charged with dropping off all the delicious, Mexican treats and bread to your sweet, hand-drawn community. Your neighbors will visit your bakery and request their favorite goods. Fill their orders and keep your bread basket from overflowing out of the top.

The Basics

Let’s get down to the basics of PancitoMerge. PancitoMerge by creator Fáyer is a delightful “drop merge” game inspired by the beloved Suika Game but with a delicious Mexican bakery twist! Immerse yourself in the vibrant world of Mexican breads, a cornerstone of the country’s culture and cuisine—perfect for meals, celebrations, or a quick snack. As you play, discover and learn about each bread by clicking/tapping on them in the info panel.

The goal is simple: merge matching bread to create higher-level ones, aiming for the highest score possible while unlocking every type of bread in a single run. But be careful—the game ends if the breads stack up to the top of the bag.

Why Should I Play?

So why should you play PancitoMerge? This is the perfect game for a low-energy play session or short play session. The controls are intuitive and the gameplay is to understand without directions or tutorial events for new players in the genre. Every five drops, a customer arrives with a specific bread request and you can fulfill their order by clicking/tapping on the requested bread in the bag. I didn’t read how to clear the orders on my first playthrough so the neighborhood dog stayed in my window the whole game without any penalty.

The bread gravity mechanics are different from other Suika-style games I’ve played and there is a level of strategy that extends the gameplay when deciding when to fill customer orders or wait for new ones to generate. While the controls are generally tight, sometimes you have to wait for the game physics to “shake out” the order/rotation of combined breads while the game sorts out the chain reactions but this only happens with the largest pieces.

Ready to serve up some Mexican classics? You can play PancitoMerge for free in the browser on Itch.io.
