Owen Wilson is reportedly joining the cast of Loki for Disney+. The details about his character haven’t been revealed, but comicbook.com reports that Wilson is in a prominent role. Disney+ and Marvel haven’t commented on the casting.
Tom Hiddleston reprises his role that has appeared in many of the Thor and Avengers movies. A fan favorite, the trickster was last seen escaping capture after the Chitauri attack on New York City in Avengers: Endgame. The film basically introduced a new version of Loki and gave him a new life. The previous version died in Avengers: Infinity War.
There is no synopsis for the series yet, but Comicbook reports the series will feature the God of Mischief popping in and out of history and influencing major historical events. Marvel’s chief creative officer Kevin Feige also revealed that the Loki series will connect to the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness film.
Michael Waldron serves as writer and executive producer for Loki. Kate Herron is directing all of the episodes and executive producing.
Loki is scheduled to debut in spring 2021 on Disney+
