Welcome back Oshi No Ko fans! This week’s episode focuses on the same drama scene from the last episode, as well as show us what school life is about to be like for the twins. We last left off with Aqua getting ready to give us the performance of a lifetime. Are you ready for it?

Rain falls hard at the shoot location as Aqua looks around. Now determined to make the best scene possible, Aqua uses all the tricks he has learned from his years with director Taishi to his advantage. Considering camera angles, the weather, puddles and lighting, Aqua is ready.
The camera starts rolling and… Kana’s internal monologue picks up? Right when we are ready to see Aqua’s acting, we get Kana’s backstory via a flashback. We learn how the public considered her washed up when she was only in elementary school. Regardless, Kana desperately tried to make it as an actor anyway. Explaining that this leading role, while the show sucks, meant a lot to her. She loved the manga drama is based on, and desperately wanted to show people she could make a good show.

Up until now, the show has done badly, but she is hoping this final scene, the most beloved scene amongst fans, will be enough to save the show. Things look bleak until Kana’s inner thoughts are disrupted by Aqua’s ominous footsteps. He enters the scene!
Watching this scene gave me literal chills when Aqua came on. Using the rain, Aqua works to set up the perfect creepy atmosphere. At first, the production staff are unsure if they should continue filming. They ultimately decide that Aqua is on to something and continue improvising lines in order to provoke the male lead into showing actual emotion, Aqua manages to not only deliver a stunning performance but pull one of the worst actors of the bunch.

We transition to three women working on a manga. One of them is the author of the manga that the drama Aqua was in is based on. The other two women appear to be her assistants. They comment about the show and the author gets ready to watch the final episode. The show completely disappointed her until this very last episode. Tears stream down the author’s face and she expresses gratitude.
At an after-party, Aqua and Kana mingle. The author attends and thanks Kana specifically for her performance. Crediting Kana for saving the show. While that’s happening, Aqua chats with the producer. We learn via Aqua’s internal dialogue that Aqua already sent in the cigarette to be DNA tested. No match. Aqua continues to pursue Kaburagi and presses the producer for more information on Ai, but as with most things in the entertainment world, that information won’t be free. Kaburagi says he has the info Aqua needs, but will only hand it over if Aqua promises to go on his dating TV show.

It feels like the episode should have ended there but then we jump to Ruby and Aqua’s first day of school. They passed their interviews from episode 2, and it is finally the first day. We see the scene from the last part of the first episode played out again.
At school, Kana shows them the ropes. Ruby manages to make friends with a pin-up model who attends her class while Aqua is focused on his studies. The twins meet up toward the end of the day and have a short exchange with another talented actress that attends school with them. Being surrounded by all this talent makes Ruby nervous.

Miyako claims it isn’t that easy, and Aqua states he might know someone for the job. That someone? Kana!
And that’s the end! Will Kana want to join their idol group? Is this new pin-up model going to become a recurring character? And what on earth is going to happen on that dating show? We can probably answer one of those questions already. Based on how long Kana is in the theme song, it is highly likely she will join the group. That leaves the biggest mystery as the reality show Aqua is going on! I’m really anxious to see how the dating show arc plays out, and if Aqua can get more intel about Ai’s death.
