Yeah, so rest easy, folks. Craig (Jonathan Whittaker) survives Xander’s (Vinson Tran) dumbass stray bullet, and while he’s not exactly kicking, he’s alive — for now. Unfortunately, in Orphan Black: Echoes Season 1 Episode 9, “Attracting Awful Things,” he isn’t the only innocent bystander we need to worry about.
As we barrel toward the season finale, all the major players who are NOT Paul Darros (James Hiroyuki Liao) have allied to stop him from launching whatever he plans to launch. Kira (Keeley Hawes) and the Eleanor printouts (or “selflings” as Craig cleverly coins) must figure out what the security token is protecting, and time is running out.

With so many people involved at this point, the groupings keep shifting as various challenges arise. Kira and Eleanor 2.0 (Rya Kihlstedt) come to help Jules (Amanda Fix) with Xander. They all end up at the Miller-Manning homestead, where an exciting surprise visitor pops in to help out.

Meanwhile, Lucy (Krysten Ritter) calls in Jack (Avan Jogia) for his medical expertise to help with Craig’s bullet wound. This is the first time Jack and Craig have met in person. For Lucy, it’s probably a world-colliding moment she’s not ready for.
It’s fascinating to see how many similarities the selflings share as they spend more time together. Equally interesting is how each is struggling with a different emotional conflict. For Jules, there’s a very real, very adolescent-appropriate confusion over her sense of self and place. Lucy wants to be there for everyone and not abandon anyone. Eleanor 2.0 must balance her new purpose with her memories of the O.G. Eleanor’s life with Kira.
Then there’s Xander and Darros. As beta and primary, respectively, there will always be a power differential. Darros is set on changing the world and has little time or patience for those who can’t keep up. Even if they are him.

And what about Tom (Reed Diamond)? Darros effectively benched him for the foreseeable future, but that can’t sit well with him. What bad choices will he make next?
New episodes of Orphan Black: Echoes air on Sundays at 10 pm ET/PT on AMC, AMC+ and BBC America.
