Calling all members of Clone Club! Deadline reports AMC greenlit Orphan Black: Echoes, an Orphan Black spinoff, with a 10-episode first season order. It’ll debut on AMC Plus and the company’s linear networks.

This glorious sestra show hones in on the near future and explores how science manipulates humans. It follows a group of women who embark on a journey to solve the mystery surrounding their identity. Anna Fishko serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside John Fawcett, who co-created and directed the original sci-fi series with Graeme Manson

Orphan Black originally premiered on BBC America on March 30, 2013, and ran for five seasons, bowing out on August 12, 2017. Tatiana Maslany starred as multiple clones, navigating a perilous world that seeks to destroy them.

While there are 276 Leda clones, Maslany portrayed 14 onscreen, including Sarah Manning, Cosima Niehaus, Alison Hendrix, Helena and Rachel Duncan as the five main characters. Maslany won an Emmy for her performances on the critically-lauded series.

Dan McDermott, president of entertainment for AMC Networks, had this to say regarding Orphan Black: Echoes’ greenlight:

Orphan Black had a remarkable run on BBC America, attracting millions of dedicated and highly engaged fans, captivated by a smart and engrossing story and a star-making and Emmy-winning performance by Tatiana Maslany. We can’t wait to dive back in with Anna, John and our partners at Boat Rocker and deliver an all-new version of this rich world that is worthy of the #CloneClub.”

As of now, there’s no word on whether we’ll see a connection to Orphan Black or appearances from the original cast. I doubt we’ll see Maslany, notably since her Marvel star is rising, but we might hear whispers about Sarah Manning and the pivotal work the sestras did to find a cure for the Leda clones’ life-threatening illness.

Regardless, I’m excited to return to this property. It’s rich with intricate mythology and rife with possibility. Bring it on!

Orphan Black: Echoes will premiere sometime in 2023.
