Origin Announces BIG O During CES 2020

With CES 2020 in full swing, the tech world is sharing their latest innovations. One of those newest pieces is Origin’s BIG O. No it isn’t a giant robot (the 90s anime kid in me is real sad about that), but it is a hybrid gaming desktop. The system features a liquid-cooled PC and liquid-cooled console all rolled up in one. The base model features an Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, a 1TB mechanical hard drive, a six-core Intel Core i5 9600K processor, 16GB of RAM, Origin’s Frostbyte 120 liquid cooling system, an Nvidia GTX 1660 GPU, a 240GB SSD, and a 450W power supply. This retails for a whooping $2,499!

Now you can choose to upgrade their BIG O in several different ways. They can swap out the Xbox One S All Digital unit for a Playstaion 4 Pro for $146 more. Those who are looking to use the system for streaming from the console will need to pay the $489 upgrade fee for an Elgato 4K60 Pro capture card as well. If you aren’t careful, things can start adding up fast. Especially if you want to add an SATA SSD card to your console or upgrade the specs of the PC half.

With a new generation of consoles releasing around the 2020 holiday season, is this worth the money? If you are looking for an upgrade to your PC and also want to pick up a console as well, then maybe. However, it really is just two separate units in one case. They have separate power supplies and HDMI cords meaning more wires. You could simply get away with getting a new PC and saving the money by just putting your already owned console next to it.

If you are interested in purchasing the BIG O, let us know why. For those interested and want to know more, the preorder for the unit is live on Origin’s website.
