We’re not done with the Arconia yet, true crime lovers! As reported by Deadline, Hulu’s hit comedy Only Murders in the Building has been greenlit for a second season!

This announcement comes hot on the heels of the mega streamer’s news that the series became the “most-watched Hulu Original comedy on premiere day.” In addition, Only Murders in the Building is the most-watched show out of all SVOD (Subscription Video On Demand) titles on the platform.

From the minds of John Hoffman and Steve Martin, the series follows a trio of true crime devotees — Charles (Martin), Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez) — as they’re swept up in a convoluted murder case that envelops their New York City apartment complex, the Arconia.

While the police tag the death of our leads’ fellow neighbor as a suicide, the trio decides to embark on an investigation of their own, but that’s not all — they create a true-crime podcast to document their discoveries.

Besides Martin, Short and Gomez, Aaron Dominguez and Amy Ryan also star in Only Murders in the BuildingNathan Lane is a recurring guest star, and Tina Fey is featured. It wouldn’t be a show about NYC without Lane and Fey!

Here’s what Craig Erwich, President of ABC Entertainment and Hulu Originals, had to say regarding the show’s renewal:

Only Murders in the Building reflects the kind of creative excellence that is the hallmark of Hulu Originals. Steve, John and Dan [Fogelman] have created a uniquely captivating and entertaining series. The audience’s response to the delightful blend of mystery, humor and emotion in the show has been overwhelming and we can’t wait to follow this unlikely trio on their next adventure.

This is one of my favorite shows to hit the streaming world in years. We’re only five episodes in, but Only Murders in the Building has been consistently strong from the get-go, which is a rarity for a new series. I’m excited to see how this season ends and where the next installment will take us. Another murder in the Arconia, perhaps?
