Season four of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD was the most action packed and strongest season thanks to the addition of Ghost Rider and the Agents of Hydra story arc.  AoS was not able to make an appearance at SDCC, so they made up for it at New York Comic Con this past weekend.

So what can we expect in Season 5?  Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb talked about the upcoming season.  He brought cast members Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Elizabeth Henstridge, Iain De Caestecker, Henry Simmons, and newly promoted regular Natalie Cordova-Buckley.

Loeb talked a little about season 4 and revealed the season 5 premiere date will be December 1, 2017.  The panel then played a video, recapping season 4. There was lots of footage of Ghost Rider Robbie Reyes (Gabriel Luna) and Madame Hydra/AIDA (Mallory Jansen). There was also footage of the Agents of Hydra story arc.  The audience went nuts for the Coulson-May kiss.

The fans got the chance to ask some questions. Someone asked if they were going to get season five footage. Loeb said he would show footage if Caestecker would kiss his on-screen girlfriend Henstridge.  Casestecker kissed Loeb instead.

According to, season five starts with an older man beginning his day with a swim and a shower.  He removes his skin, revealing his alien existence.  After his shower, he puts the human skin back on.  He goes to a truck parked at an airport hanger.

Someone swipes through logos on the truck until they find the right one.  They go to a diner and examine the place. The alien talks about taking the agents.  He mentions that “they” left one of the team members behind because they “aren’t on the list.”

The frozen agents are taken to an empty building.  They are revived and stand in front of a stone obelisk. The stone melts to a liquid form and over the team.

Coulson on a space station.  Everything is frozen. He looks around and see three people in the room with him. It looks like one person is being sucked out through a broken window.  The other two are holding on to something.  Coulson sees time slowly start back up and he grabs onto something as well. One of the people is able to push a button that closes the door over the broken window, but not in time to save the third person.

Coulson trying to figure out what’s going on.  An alien comes in and murders one of the two people left.  The last guy says he knows who Coulson is.

Mack shows up and punches the guy out.  Yo-Yo and Simmons are right behind him.  The team discuss what’s going on, who took them, who these other humans are and if this space station is a part of SHIELD.

The surviving man wakes up and he knows who all of them are.  They start asking him questions, but another alien kills him before he can answer.

The team tries to escape, but an alien traps them. Daisy appears and quakes the alien, blowing him up.  Daisy is reunited with Coulson, Mack, Simmons, and Yo-Yo.  May is in the next room and Fitz is on Earth. May frees herself and sees someone with a space mask on scavaging the dead bodies.  The mystery man leaves and May follows him. He catches her and grabs her by the throat.  He says to May, “I’ve been looking for you.”
