At New York Comic Con today, executive producer Akio Iyoku discussed the future of the Dragon Ball franchise, including new developments and a huge announcement. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is celebrating its seventh anniversary this year and has sold 10 million units since its release. To commemorate the occasion, a substantial free update goes live today. A new multiplayer mode called Cross Versus has been added, with a new event and more. DLC will be released in 2024 and will include a new scenario, more playable characters and more.

Dragon Ball: The Breakers is celebrating its first anniversary, and players are told to prepare for a new season. The official game page will stream live on October 13 at 7 PM PDT and October 14 at 4 AM EST. Tune in for a sneak peek of the new upcoming season and more.
The Dragon Ball Super Card Game is in its seventh year and will be getting some major changes. The current title will be renamed “Masters,” and a new title, “Fusion World,” will be introduced. “Fusion World” features new card designs available in both the physical and digital versions of the game. The creators guarantee that the Zenkai series will continue in the current title. “Masters” is available now, and “Fusion World” will come in February 2024.

Executive producer Akio Iyoku began his slew of announcements with a reminder that the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour will occur in Los Angeles on January 27-28. Registration for the event has begun, so don’t forget to sign up. Will you be the next Dragon Ball game champion?
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero will get a special edition physical release, complete with a lenticular case and collectible card. Amazon and Walmart will each be getting their own unique steel case design. You can stream Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero exclusively on Crunchyroll.

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods will return to the Sand big screen thanks to Fathom Theaters. This is an extended version never before seen in theaters with an extra 20 minutes of excitement. See it in participating Fathom Theaters on October 17-18.
The Sand Land game is set to be released worldwide soon, and in-house fans were treated to an English dubbed trailer. Iyoku says it is a great way for fans to reexperience Sand Land and even do some customization to the world.
They saved the best for last by confirming a new Dragon Ball series named Dragon Ball: Daima. A teaser was shown to those lucky enough to be there, but worry not; it will soon be released on the official Toei Animation YouTube channel. Monica Rial pointed out that Goku, Vegeta and Bulma looked smaller. Perhaps they are younger? It was mentioned that “Daima” means evil, so who knows what our favorite heroes have in store?

Iyoku was understandably tight-lipped on the details, but he said that Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama was more deeply involved with story development and character design than usual. We should expect to see new worlds, new monsters, epic battles (of course), mysteries, excitement and never-before-seen worlds. Dragon Ball: Daima is set to release in Fall 2024.
