Prime Video shocked and awed fans into an epic panel today during NYCC 2022. The first part highlighted and teased season two of The Wheel of Time and the second part was all things The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The queen of geeks, Felicia Day, moderated a panel including Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Nazanin Boniadi, Charles Edwards, Leon Wadham, Benjamin Walker, Daniel Weyman and Sara Zwangobani. Showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay even sent in a special message from the show’s set, where production on season two has already kicked off.

Day led the panel with a whirlwind of questions surrounding the first seven episodes of the seasons. And we give her all the credit for every time she tried to pry season finale spoilers out of the cast and for asking what we were all thinking – who is Sauron? Like true professionals, the cast let nothing slip, but they did share their favorite moments, stories from filming and how much they have loved being a part of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
Now, it wouldn’t be an NYCC panel without some kind of trailer. And folx, the season finale trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is epic. It flashes through moments from the first seven episodes, leading up to the season’s epic finale. The trailer promises exciting payoffs in the finale. It teases the rise of Mordor, heroes falling and subtle hints about who Sauron is. The trailer unwraps in front of our eyes to Bear McCreary‘s score, “Sauron.” Because just like us, McCreary wants to know who Sauron is too.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will air its season finale episode on October 14, 2022. And then – we will know the truth.
