Today during the kick-off of NYCC 2022, the cast of AMC’s Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches took to the stage to chat about the upcoming series and show off the first official trailer. This will be the second adaptation of one of Anne Rice‘s iconic works. Her other series, Interview with the Vampire, has already been renewed for a second season. The Mayfair series is directed by Michael Uppendahl and Jeff Freilich, with showrunner Esta Spalding.

AMC has described Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches as “an exploration of female power and the mortal implications of our decisions.” The series follows neurosurgeon Rowan Fielding (Alexandra Daddario), who learns that she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches. The series will watch her grapple with her newfound powers. Plus, she will have to deal with a sinister presence that has haunted her family for generations.

The trailer for Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches introduces us to the magical world created by Rice throughout her novels. We get small glimpses into Rowan uncovering her family’s history and being haunted by Lasher, who appears in the trailer as Jack Huston. The trailer also gave us the opportunity to see Harry Hamlin as one of Rowan’s relatives and Tongayi Chirisa as Ciprien. We are most excited to see Chirisa in the supernatural investigator role, and the trailer really shows him off.

Alongside Daddario, Huston, Hamlin and Chirisa, Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches also stars Beth Grant, Jen Richards, Hannah Alline, and more. The series looks fantastic so far, and AMC has no plans to stop the Anne Rice train. The catalog acquired last year includes Interview with the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat, The Queen of the Damned, Memnoch The Devil, Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis, and so many more.
