Get your sonic screwdrivers ready, Whovians! Doctor Who crash landed into NYCC 2020 on Thursday with an exclusive glimpse into the show’s upcoming holiday special! The BBC America fan favorite dropped two new images from “Revolution of the Daleks,” the title of said holiday special.
Now, the first photo shows our titular Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) entrapped in an undisclosed alien prison. She’s feverishly scrawling markings on the wall. It’s very reminiscent of when The Silence took over during the 10th Doctor’s tenure. The second photo reveals her companions Graham (Bradley Walsh), Yaz (Mandip Gill), and Ryan (Tosin Cole) sitting listlessly around a table.

The premise of “Revolution of the Daleks” was also revealed at NYCC 2020. While the Doctor is locked away in an alien prison, her friends on Earth try to go on without her. However, old habits die hard, especially when a dangerous plan formulates involving the Daleks. You know, one of the Doctor’s oldest and most formidable enemies.
On the panel, our trusty companions divulged just how difficult it is for them to pick up their lives without traveling in the TARDIS. Yaz, in particular, takes the separation especially hard. Thankfully, the lessons they’ve learned while traveling through time and space will come into play regarding the Daleks’ plan.
“Revolution of the Daleks” will premiere this season on BBC America. There will be a week-long Doctor Who marathon from Christmas to New Year’s Day, all leading to the much-anticipated holiday special.
