Since Gotham was officially renewed for a fifth and final season, we’ve only had a few hints of what to expect. The first trailer was shown during the Gotham panel at NYCC 2018 on Sunday. It was mostly a recap of the previous seasons, with an emphasis on the show’s popular villains. The new content showed an almost post apocalyptic city. In addition to the trailer, showrunners confirmed a few rumors that have been floating around.

Bane will finally be making an appearance. Shane West (best known for A Walk to Remember) will play Eduardo Dorrance, an old acquaintance of Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie). He arrives in Gotham to help his old friend restore order. Gordon soon finds out that Dorrance isn’t what he seems. It was also confirmed that the tenth and final episode will take place 10 years in the future to show a fully grown Dark Knight. One highly anticipated villain was hinted at, when it was announced that Jeremiah Valeska (Cameron Monaghan) will be getting a girlfriend with a love of colors and roller skates.
