A new horror podcast from Peter Podgursky, NPRmageddon, is bringing listeners all of the latest post-apocalyptic news from “Lost” Angeles. With a cast of more than 80 actors and all of the sci-fi, post-apocalyptic tea to spill, this show is unlike any horror podcast you have heard. Here is everything we know.
This scripted audio series consists of 10 parts and is in the style of public radio broadcasts. Listeners are invited to “join host Bryan Garcia-McMillan-Keithley and his deranged cadre of newspeople as they run roughshod over post-apocalyptic Lost Angeles, tearing deep into every story they can get their journalistic jaws around. It’s weird, it’s sci-fi, it’s horror, it’s comedy, and it always seems to come with a body count. But hey, who’s counting?”

The story is set in an apocalypse-ridden hellscape version of Los Angeles, now called Lost Angeles. The area has turned into a wasteland full of the worst of the worst. There are rogue AIs, mutants, escaped sentient brains, and every terrible thing you can imagine. However, the city’s last news station continues to fight the good fight and arm the city’s inhabitants with information and every grisly detail.
A star-studded ensemble provides their voices to the project. Incredibly, NPRmageddon marks what are likely the final performances of actor and comedian Fred Willard and science-fiction author Harlan Ellison. The rest of the cast includes Betsy Baker, John de Lancie, Erika Ishii, Jello Biafra, Andrew Bowser, Barbara Goodson, Tay Zonday, Hart D. Fisher, Kelsey Gunn and Michael Rousselet. The list goes on and on.
This scripted audio horror podcast launched on Jan. 24, 2023. It is available on Apple, Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts. You can check out more about NPRmageddon on their official website.
