Zachary Quinto stars as Charlie Manx on NOS4A2

AMC announced the hit horror series NOS4A2 returns for season two on June 1.  According to Deadline, the show will also simulcast on BBC America.  Based on Joe Hill’s best-selling novel, NOS4A2 stars Zachary Quinto as Charlie Manx and Ashleigh Cummings as Vic McQueen.

AMC made the announcement in a statement from President of AMC Networks’ Entertainment Group & AMC Studios Sarah Barnett.  “Following the strong success we’ve had sharing other talked-about series across our networks, most notably Killing Eve, we have another terrific opportunity to expand the audience for a great show.  With NOS4A2, Jami O’Brien, along with an incredible cast led by Zach and Ashleigh, have delivered a unique take on the vampire story, fueled by Joe Hill’s spine-tingling novel. We’re excited to open this high-stakes story up to entirely new audiences.”

The story follows Vic as she discovers she has a supernatural ability to find lost things.   Manx is essentially a vampire who feeds on the souls of children, turning them into monsters who feed on blood.  Vic and Manx cross paths when Vic sets out to find a missing girl that Manx has taken.  Season one ended with Vic defeating, but not killing Manx.

Season 2 will pick up eight years after the first season.  Vic remains more determined than ever to destroy Charlie Manx. Charlie, having faced his own mortality, emerges desperate for revenge against Vic. This time, he sets his sights on the person who means most to Vic – her eight-year-old son Wayne. The race for Wayne’s soul sends Vic and Charlie on a high-speed collision course, forcing both to confront the mistakes of their pasts in order to secure a hold on Wayne’s future.

For now the plan is to release NOS4A2 season 2 on June 1 on AMC and BBC America.
