During the Nintendo Direct Mini event this morning, fans were treated to a new trailer for Square Enix‘s Bravely Default II. The second installment of the beloved series will see four new heroes set out to save the continent of Excillant. The story follows the young sailor Seth after he washes up on the shores of one of Excillant’s five countries. He joins Gloria of Musa, Evlis and Adelle as they travel and take on jobs. As players progress through the story, they will be able to complete jobs while also selecting skills and abilities to customize their team.

The new trailer for Bravely Default II gives us a look at four Asterisk bosses players will need to defeat in order to take on harder jobs. We get a chance to see Dag Rampage, Orpheus Tragoidia, Anihal and Shirley Clarence. Defeating one of these four will unlock the class specific to that boss. For example, beating Dag will grant players the chance to follow the Vanguard class. More Asterisk bosses will be added throughout the journey, giving players the chance to further customize their team.
Back in March of this year, Nintendo and Square Enix released a demo for Bravely Default II. They asked players to provide feedback on the current iteration of the game. The development team received over 20,000 responses and most dealt with the difficulty of the game and controls. They have taken this advice and have begun making the changes necessary. A full video of the changes will be released soon on the Nintendo YouTube channel.
Bravely Default II is set to release on February 26, 2021, for the Nintendo Switch.
