The June Nintendo Direct for 2024 was a powerhouse showcase that revealed new titles for Nintendo’s largest franchises. While we didn’t get any news on the successor to the Switch, there is still a lot to be excited about. This will be a comprehensive list of the most exciting reveals from the stream and a look into what you’ll be playing on the Nintendo Switch in the coming months and beyond.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
The most exciting announcement by far is the new game coming to The Legend of Zelda lineup that will finally have us playing as the titular princess. The gameplay and art style remind me of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, emphasizing puzzle solving with the non-combat-based play.
There will also be a specialty, gold-colored Nintendo Switch Lite with the Hylian Crest, which will arrive alongside the game in limited qualities. The console and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will be released on September 26, 2024.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership
The biggest surprise of Nintendo Direct was the announcement of Mario & Luigi: Brothership. Mario fans were already treated to the Princess Peach solo game in February and Super Mario Bros. Wonder last year, so I wasn’t expecting another inventive main game reveal. The early gameplay in the trailer was a mix of RPG and puzzle elements that emphasize the Nintendo Switch’s biggest advantage, co-op play.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
The wait is over. We finally have our first look at the continuation of Samus Aran’s story titled Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. It was a brief announcement so there wasn’t much indication of the story but fans are ecstatic after a seven-year wait.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will be released on Nintendo Switch sometime in 2025.
Super Mario Party Jamboree
Get ready to visit an enormous island resort for a party…a Mario Party. Take on over 110 minigames, seven game boards (five new boards and two returning boards), and join up to 20 players head-to-head online in Koopathlon mode.
The biggest Mario Party yet, Super Mario Party Jamboree launches on Nintendo Switch on October 17th, 2024.

LEGO Horizon Adventures
LEGO fans were treated to an extended look at the previously announced LEGO Horizon Adventures. The game was first revealed during the Sony and in a rare move, they have decided to share one of their coveted original IPs. Nintendo players are invited to play as machine hunter Aloy on a quest to save the world from an ancient evil. Bring a friend to join you in 2-player local or online co-op when LEGO Horizon Adventures launches on Nintendo Switch this holiday.
Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game
Live out your daydreams and play as a Hobbit, directly from the pages of J.R.R Tolkien’s beloved books. The sprites will be customizable with a bevy of appearance options and clothing to match your inner hobbit. You’ll decorate your hobbit hole and transform the cozy space with grid-free placement to position décor to your liking. Discover the wonders each new day brings to Bywater as you settle into your serene homestead for a much-needed respite in Middle-earth.
Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings game will be available in time for the 2024 holiday season.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure
We can all finally quit World of Warcraft because Hello Kitty Island Adventure is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Embark on a cozy adventure with Hello Kitty and Friends to explore and restore a mysterious island. Get to know super cute and friendly faces like Hello Kitty, Kuromi, and Cinnamoroll as you learn what they love, adventure alongside them, and eventually become best friends. Cook delicious dishes, solve ancient puzzles and decorate cabins to bring along new visitors and create your ultimate island paradise. The adventure sets sail next year.

New Games Coming to Nintendo Switch Online
Nintendo loves to give fans little gifts during the Nintendo Direct stream and this was a big day. There are some amazing games headed to Nintendo Switch Online later today, including The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Four Swords, Metroid: Zero Mission, Perfect Dark, and Turok: Dinosaur Hunter.
Among Us Free Update
Finally, three new roles are coming to Among Us later today. The update lets fans play as a Tracker, Noisemaker, or Phantom. We got a brief look at these roles in action in the trailer, showing us how we’ll have to navigate around the map and interact with other players in these roles.
