During the Nintendo Direct presentation today, we got a look at the upcoming projects releasing in the next few months. One of which was that the long-awaited SaGa Frontier Remastered from Square Enix is finally coming in April! We first saw a trailer back in November and my heart has been pining for it ever since. It has had a special place in my heart since I was a child. My first video game crush was Red, one of the playable protagonists in the series.

SaGa Frontier Remastered will allow players to experience the seven original storylines plus a brand new one via the Free-Form Scenario System. Each of the eight characters has their own stories and goals while exploring the sci-fi fantasy universe known as “The Regions”. Players will be discovering unique worlds, technology and magic. But a new playable character isn’t the only thing getting added to the game. It will feature previously cut content, including Fuse’s main scenario, several new events for other characters and upgraded graphics to optimize gameplay for modern platforms.

I don’t think I can share how excited I am about this. The moment I learned the release date, I called my sister and pretty much squealed into the phone. When I think of gaming in my childhood, this is one of the games that come to mind and with nothing but great memories. I cannot wait to get my hands on this and replay all of it until I have seen every new cut scene and Fuse’s storyline. At least twice. Definitely twice.

SaGa Frontier Remastered will release on April 15, 2021, for PC through Steam, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android mobile devices. Pre-orders start in March! Check out the trailer below and let us know how excited you are to dive back into this beloved game!
