The Video Game Store Under the Barbershop

Our second series this week might have a long name, but Ilkwon Ha’s The Video Game Store Under the Barbershop is a must-read. This drama series follows Miso, who becomes obsessed after seeing her classmate, Hyojeong, playing a retro handheld game. Miso decides at that moment that she wants to learn everything she can and be a part of the community. Fate only entwines the two further when Miso and her brother uncover the old video game store run by Hyojeong and her sister.
We love a good love story. And what could be better than a love story between a girl and retro video games? The Video Game Store Under the Barbershop might be a mouthful to say, but this is an absolute must-read series. We love Ha’s art style and the use of vibrant color to help bring life to the world. Miso and Hyojeong’s relationship is something to enjoy as it expands and grows through their mutual love of retro video games.
