The best thing about March is that it’s so much closer to May, which means we’re only a few weeks out from the premiere of Marvel’s next big cosmic saga — Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2.
We’ve had three trailers up to now, but this marks one of our first big TV spots and it’s got a lot of new footage and lines to get us excited.
For instance, we hear Peter Quill saying, “There’s a thousand of them, and five of us.” Drax (Dave Bautista) then vocalizes his opinion saying, “these odds are terrible. We need new odds.” It sounds to us like Drax plans on bringing in some fresh new blood to help them save the galaxy for a second time.
Then we get some great footage of Star-Lord in a ship from Sovereign blasting his way through space, followed by Yondu whistling for his arrow and Baby Groot cheering someone on.
Finally, at the end of the trailer, we hear Nebula (Karen Gillian) making fun of her adopted sister, Gamora, and her dumb teammates saying, “Here you stand, a hero, a Garden of the Galaxy.” Which Gamora (Zoe Saldana) quickly corrects saying, “Guardians of the Galaxy — why would we be Gardens?” Poor Nebula, she’s just trying to fit in, right?
