Warner Bros is doing their damnedest to get their movie, Suicide Squad, into all our hearts and minds. We’ve already had more than our fair trailers, both TV and cinematic, and now today we have another trailer and, honestly, it’s one of their best trailers.
Here’s why — Amanda Waller, as played by Viola Davis. She is one of the bigger mysteries in this movie and this trailer shows us just how fully bad ass she actually is, giving us stone cold moments and lines as “I am your consequence” and “Flag, this is need to know, and all you need to know is you work for me.” Then we also have other characters reacting to her, with Will Smith in his role as the assassin, Deadshot, saying to Col. Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), “She is one mean lady.” Finally, in the end, Rick Flag confronts Waller saying, “They warned me about you. I didn’t believe the stories.” Her reply is very cold and almost proud — “Nobody does.”
And that’s just Waller’s stuff — we also get some more new moments with Jared Leto as The Joker, see some emotion from Katana (Karen Fukuhara) and see a very quick shot of Killer Croc swimming through some murky water. Despite all of this, between all of the trailers and featurettes, it feels like we still haven’t seen all of the movie, unlike the trailers for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice where they showed us Doomsday right out of the gate.
