South of Midnight

Compulsion Games and Xbox Game Studios have teamed up to give us the new action-adventure title South of Midnight. Players will spend their time exploring the vast mythos of the Deep South. The story follows Hazel, a young woman trying to uncover her connection to this incredible world, save her hometown from disaster, and master the art of becoming a Weaver. Every trailer makes us fall in love with this world a little more. And can we talk about Hazel? We are ready for her to be one of our favorite female protagonists in video games. This release has a lot of hype, and we can only hope it lives up to it.

South of Midnight is set to release on April 8, 2025, for PC via Steam and Xbox Series X/S.

Once Human (Mobile)

If you are considering upgrading your phone, now is a good time because Once Human is going mobile, and the system requirements are bonkers. Once Human is a post-apocalyptic, multiplayer, open-world survival game from Starry Studio and Exptional Global.

Wake up with amnesia in an apocalyptic world destroyed by an alien pollutant known as stardust that has mutated most living things into horrific Lovecraftian monsters. However, as a meta-human created by Rosetta, the company responsible for the devastation, you can control stardust and resist mutation. Uncover the nefarious secrets of Rosetta by defeating nightmarish deviants, building a base, upgrading weapons, and staying alive (and sane). Luckily, you are not in this alone because mobile players will be able to play together and with their PC friends, thanks to cross-platform gameplay.

Once Human releases on April 23, 2025, for Android and iOS.

Rusty Rabbit

Humankind abandoned Earth as it entered another ice age. Over time, those who came to hold dominion over the world were… rabbits!? After humanity left, the rabbits referred to humans as “giants” and revered the massive ruins left behind as “Smokestack Mountain.” Those fearless enough to violate and excavate this sacred site are known as “rust diggers.” The protagonist, an old rabbit named Stamp, is one such rust digger, making a daily routine of excavating Smokestack Mountain.

The gameplay focuses on an RPG-like progression that involves upgrading your mech with parts and materials collected from within the ruins. Improve Stamp’s skills through intense battles with enemies guarding treasures. Hop in your mech to smash and dash your way through the cavernous industrial zones in the mazelike ruins. With your mech’s ninja-like speed and mobility, explore the ruins by smashing through blocks and loot any treasure that awaits.

A demo of Rusty Rabbit is available now, and the full game will be released for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on April 17, 2025.
