Welcome to another edition of New TV Shows. This week belongs to the new and returning series. Get ready because things are about to get good.

Manga and anime are coming to life with Netflix’s Bet. Paramount+’s favorite team of doctors is back for Season 3. And the book series Murderbot is coming to life on AppleTV+.

Some exciting series, including more than one with robots, are premiering this week. Here are the new TV shows for May 11-17.

NEW ON TV, MAY 11-17

May 14 – Snakes and Ladders

La Casa de las Flores‘s Cecilia Suárez stars in Netflix’s newest series, Snakes and Ladders. Alongside Juan Pablo Medina and Martiño Rivas, the cast tells the story of a renowned school and an ambitious teacher who has spent her entire career seeking the headmaster title. As she continues to fight for this role, she finds herself stuck between two students in a dispute. A small incident is about to change her life forever.

Snakes and Ladders premieres Wednesday, May 14 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

May 15 – Bet

A Japanese manga story is turned into live-action as Netflix’s Bet. The series follows the students of a private school where gambling determines who you are in the social ladder. A new student with a very mysterious past comes along and starts shaking things up. What her fellow students don’t know is that she is betting on revenge.

Bet premieres Thursday, May 15 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

May 15 – Love, Death & Robots

Love, Death & Robots is back for its fourth season. The show is known for the beauty of its animations and the creative team working behind every episode. Directors and artists work together to bring the characters to life. This season, viewers will see the work of Tim Miller, David Fincher and Jennifer Yuh Nelson.

Love, Death & Robots Season 4 premieres Wednesday, May 15 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

May 15 – Overcompensating

If you need a new story that takes place on a college campus, Overcompensating is the perfect new series for you. Benny is a former football player and homecoming king, still in the closet. Carmen is a former high school outsider who wants to fit in. They join forces with Benny’s older sister and her campus-legend boyfriend to figure out what it is like to be a college student and fit in.

Overcompensating premieres Thursday, May 15 at 3/2 am on Prime Video.

May 15 – SkyMed

Aaron Ashmore and Braeden Clarke join Natasha Calis, Morgan Holmstrom, Parneet Akilla, Mercedes Morris, Thomas Elms, Kheon Clarke and Sydney Kuhne for the third season of SkyMed. This season throws the team into new challenges as they navigate the wildest medical emergencies. One of those emergencies will include one of their own.

SkyMed Season 3 premieres Wednesday, May 15 at 3/2 am on Paramount+.

May 15 – Duster

In the 1970s, a wild getaway driver for a crime syndicate comes face-to-face with a young detective trying to bring down his crime family. Duster is Max’s newest series and it includes Josh Holloway, Rachel Hilson, Keith David, Sydney Elisabeth, Greg Grunberg, Camille Guaty, Asivak Koostachin, Adriana Aluna Martinez and Benjamin Charles Watson.

Duster premieres Wednesday, May 15 at 9/8c on MAX.

May 16 – Murderbot

Martha Wells’s Murderbot won the Hugo and Nebula Awards. Now, her novel turns into a series on AppleTV+. The sci-fi thriller, comedy tells the story of a self-hacking security construct who hates human emotions but feels drawn to them. Murderbot has to complete every assignment that comes its way, even though it would prefer staying home alone watching futuristic soap operas.

Murderbot premieres Friday, May 16 at Midnight/11c on Apple TV+.

May 16 – The Chi

The Chi is premiering its seventh season this week, giving way for the women of the series to be the center of attention. As they work to reclaim their power, Alicia takes the lead. Paramount+ viewers can watch the premiere on Friday, while Showtime viewers will get it on Sunday.

The Chi Season 7 premieres Friday, May 16 at 3/2 am on Paramount+.

May 16 – Rotten Legacy

A medical mogul worked his entire life to create an empire he could be proud of. After falling ill and coming back to work, he discovers his children have put a plan in play to bring him and the empire down. Now, he’ll do whatever it takes to save what he created.

Rotten Legacy premieres Friday, May 16 at 3/2 am on Netflix.
