In this new official trailer for The Legend of Tarzan, we learn more about the plot in the upcoming Warner Bros. film. Although, just like the previously released poster art and teaser, we still see a heck of a lot of star Alexander Skarsgard’s abs. But can you really blame them? He is playing Tarzan after all. He even nuzzles with a lion in the trailer. Awwwww.

In the trailer we see the demise of Tarzan’s parents and the apes that bring the parents’ infant, the future Tarzan, into the fold to raise him. We also see that Tarzan has left the jungle for England to become Lord Greystoke and has married. Then we see the bad guy, Christoph Waltz, plotting and planning to change the Congo creating a war in the process. The imagery is stunning and epic and the motion capture with the apes look amazing. This very well might be a fun two hours.
Here’s the official synopsis:
The story is different from the regular retelling of the Edgar Rice Burroughs’ classic. In The Legend of Tarzan, it has been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Skarsgård) left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane (Margot Robbie) at his side. Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom (Christoph Waltz). But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.
David Yates (Harry Potter films, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) is directing the film which is set for release July 1, 2016.
