In honor of the new squad announced for England’s football soccer team, a new featurette has been released for Warner Bros.’ next DC Universe film, Suicide Squad, that cleverly places the characters into positions on the pitch. And, honestly, yeah, these positions all make sense for the characters — Deadshot (Will Smith) is the Center Forward, Killer Croc is the goalie, Rick Flag and Captain Boomerang are Center-Halfs.
It all makes sense, right?
Ultimately, if you’ve seen the trailers or read the comics then you already have an idea of who these characters are and exactly what they can do, however, the translation of comics to screen is not always exact and this little featurette gives us a better idea of where WB is going with our beloved Squad. For instance, we now know, at least from this, that they seem to be keeping Harley Quinn’s (Margot Robbie) original origin somewhat in place, having her start off as Dr. Harleen Quinzel and that Joker (Jared Leto) “turns the tables on her.”
