Welcome to another edition of What’s New on TV. This week, we celebrate May 4 with the release of a new Star Wars limited animated series. Get ready because things are about to get good.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is back in the dead city with a new season of The Walking Dead‘s spin-off. The mythologically inspired Netflix animated series, Blood of Zeus, is back for its final season. And everyone’s favorite FBI team returns for another season.

Some exciting movies, including one with cozy grandma vibes, are premiering this week. Here’s what’s new on TV for May 4-10.

NEW ON TV, MAY 4-10

May 4 – Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld

If you want to celebrate May 4 in full Star Wars mode, Disney+ has the perfect show for you. Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld premieres this week to bring fans closer to the galaxy they love so much. The animated series is a 6-episode journey that focuses on two well-known villains. Assajj Ventress and Cad Bane must become allies if they want to survive the Marshal on the opposite side of the law.

Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld premieres Sunday, May 4 at 3/2 am on Disney+.

May 4 – The Walking Dead: Dead City

Lauren Cohan, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Lisa Emery and Gaius Charles are back in the Dead City for another season of The Walking Dead: Dead City. The second season of The Walking Dead spin-off finds Maggie and Negan trapped on opposite sides of the current war. Two sides face each other to gain control of Manhattan. Who could win?

The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 premieres Sunday, May 4 at 3/2 am on AMC+.

May 4 – Miss Austen

The British show Miss Austen finally premieres in the US on PBS. The limited series is a four-part historical show in which Andrea Gibb adapts Gill Hornby’s novel, Miss Austen. The series begins in 1830 and explores how Jane Austen’s sister, Cassandra, burned the majority of her personal letters. The show stars Keeley Hawes and Jessica Hynes.

Miss Austen premieres Sunday, May 4 at 9/8c on PBS.

May 8 – Blood of Zeus

Fan-favorite Blood of Zeus comes to an end this week with its third and final season on Netflix. Viewers will be happy to know that Heron, Seraphim and the gods’ stories will continue to be explored in the final season as they face the Titans that came back to life, led by Typhon and Cronus. Hades’s actions led Gaia to decide that the Olympians were no longer worthy of their powers, so they must now prove themselves worthy.

Blood of Zeus Season 3 premieres Thursday, May 8 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

May 8 – Criminal Minds: Evolution

The BAU is back for another season, facing the manipulations of Elias Voit. Sicarius continues to create chaos on the dark web as he encourages more and more serial killers to come out of the shadows. Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Paget Brewster and Aisha Tyler are back for this new season.

Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 3 premieres Thursday, May 8 at 3/2 am on Paramount+.

May 8 – Forever

Xavier Mills, Lovie Simone and Michael Cooper Jr. lead the cast of Netflix’s Forever. The series follows the story of two high school students who navigate the challenges of falling in love for the first time. As former childhood friends, their love has a special connection that might change their lives forever.

Forever premieres Thursday, May 8 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

May 8 – Poker Face

If Season 1 of Poker Face shocked you with its incredible list of guest stars, Season 2 is about to do the same. Natasha Lyonne is joined by the likes of Awkwafina, John Mulaney, Giancarlo Esposito, Katie Holmes, Cynthia Erivo, BJ Novak and Taylor Schilling. Charlie Cale continues on her investigation journey as she takes on a different murder mystery every time. This season, we will see her in funeral homes, alligator farms and a grade school talent show.

Poker Face Season 2 premieres Thursday, May 8 at 3/2 am on Peacock.

May 9 – Summer of ’69 

If you’re in the mood for a movie, Friday is the perfect day for you. Hulu premieres Summer of ’69. The film tells the story of a high school student who is known for her awkwardness. She decides her Senior year is the perfect time to hire an exotic dancer to help her seduce her long-time crush. As they work together, the student and the dancer form a special bond that helps both of them navigate self-confidence, acceptance and adulthood.

Summer of ’69 premieres Friday, May 9 at Midnight/11c on Hulu.

May 9 – Nonnas

Not too long ago, a restaurant run by grandmothers became very popular on TikTok. Now, Netflix takes a version of that for their movie Nonnas. The film follows Joe as he navigates the hardships of losing his mom and grandmother. The only thing that’s keeping him afloat is their old recipes. He decides to use the money from her mom’s insurance to open a restaurant that serves food cooked by Nonnas from different cities in Italy. Vince Vaughn, Linda Cardellini, Joe Manganiello, Lorrein Barcco, Brenda Vaccaro, Talia Shire and Susan Sarandon are part of Nonnas.

Nonnas premieres Friday, May 9 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

May 10 – Love in the Clouds 

Paul Greene, McKenzie Westmore, Gail O’Grady and Lorenzo Lamas star in Hallmark’s Love in the Clouds. The film follows a reporter who travels to the Balloon Fiesta and meets a hot air balloon pilot. Even though he offers romantic balloon rides, he has closed the door on love himself. Can that change when he meets the reporter?

Love in the Clouds premieres Saturday, May 10 at 8/7c on Hallmark Channel.
