Welcome to another edition of What’s New on TV. This week, The Wheel of Time is back for its third season. Get ready because things are about to get good.
An Irish TV series is taking over American television on Acorn TV. Former Star Wars actor Kelly Marie Tran stars in Control Freak. And Amanda Seyfried takes over Peacock.
Some exciting series, including one coming back for its last season, are premiering this week. Here’s what’s new on TV for March 9-15.
NEW ON TV, MARCH 9-15
March 9 – The Righteous Gemstones
The Righteous Gemstones is coming back to HBO for its fourth and final season this week. The show will be full of twists, turns, and payoffs in true series finale nature. This season will include Megan Mullally, Seann William Scott and Arden Myrin as guest stars.
The Righteous Gemstones Season 4 premieres Sunday, March 9 at 10/9c on HBO.

March 10 – Blackshore
Acorn TV has gotten its viewers used to watching international TV shows. This month, they are bringing the Irish TV series Blackshore to their screens. Lisa Dawn, Amy De Bhrún and Aidan McArdle lead the cast of a procedural show that centers around a missing person case. As a police detective returns to her town, a traumatic event from her past and the town’s dark history are linked to a recent missing person case.
Blackshore premieres in America Monday, March 10 at 3/2 am on Acorn TV.

March 13 – Control Freak
Kelly Marie Tran is the leading actor in Hulu’s Control Freak. The movie tells the story of a motivational speaker who finds herself tormented by an itch on the back of her head. As the movie goes on, viewers (and the woman herself) begin to realize the itch is actually a demonic parasite. Miles Robbins plays Tran’s husband and Toan Le as her father.
Control Freak premieres Thursday, March 13 at Midnight/11c on Hulu.

March 13 – Adolescence
13-year-old Jamie Miller is arrested after murdering a schoolmate. Adolescence follows the life of the Miller family after their son’s arrest, focusing on the parents as they confront the terrible reality of their son’s actions. Stephen Graham, Owen Cooper, Ashley Walters and Erin Doherty are some of the names in Netflix’s newest show.
Adolescence premieres Thursday, March 13 at 3/2 am on Netflix.
March 13 – Long Bright River
Most recently, Peacock has been highlighting big industry names in original movies and TV shows. It is now Amanda Seyfried and Nicholas Pinnock’s turn to join the list as part of Long Bright River‘s cast. The limited series focuses on a police officer, Fitzpatrick, who patrols a neighborhood in Philadelphia dealing with the opioid crisis. As a series of murders begin to happen around her, Fitzpatrick realizes it might be connected to her personal history.
Long Bright River premieres Thursday, March 13 at 3/2 am on Peacock.

March 13 – The Wheel of Time
The Wheel of Time fans will be happy to know the show is returning for its third season of Prime Video. This season will feature the city of Rhuidean and Avendesora, and Moiraine accepting the fact that she might have to die for Rand to live. Rosamund Pike, Josha Stradowski, Marcus Rutherford and Dónal Finn are some of the stars of the season.
The Wheel of Time Season 3 premieres Thursday, March 13 at 3/2 am on Prime Video.

March 14 – Dope Thief
What could possibly go wrong when two friends pose as DEA agents to rob a house? Dope Thief is here to prove absolutely everything could go wrong. After setting up their robbery, the two friends come upon the most dangerous adventure of their lives as they reveal a hidden narcotics corridor on the Easter Seaboard.
Dope Thief premieres Friday, March 14 at Midnight/11c on Apple TV+.

March 14 – Be Happy
Be Happy is Prime Video’s newest movie, and it combines a variety of characters that one would have never imagined intertwining. There is Peter, a Freudian psychiatrist, who is married to Mika from Finland. Then we have David, who is a British gay living in Banyoles and addicted to Grinder. And lastly, Coco Lamour, a French actress.
Be Happy premieres Friday, March 14 at 3/2 am on Prime Video.
March 14 – The Electric State
Millie Bobby Brown is back leading a Netflix project in their newest movie, The Electric State. The film tells the story of an orphaned teen with a mysterious robot who tags along with her on her journey to find her long-lost brother. Along the way, she comes across a smuggler and a wisecracking sidekick that help her reach her destination. The movie includes Chris Pratt, Ke Huy Quan, Stanley Tucci, Giancarlo Esposito, Jason Alexander, Woody Norman, Woody Harrelson, Anthony Mackie, Brian Cox and Jenny Slate.
The Electric State premieres Friday, March 14 at 3/2 am on Netflix.
