Welcome to another edition of What’s New on TV. This week, the NCIS franchise is back in action from the OG to Sydney. Get ready because things are about to get good.

Sherlock Holmes fans will be thrilled to know a new version of the story is coming to life on CBS with Watson. Spider-man is taking on a new life as Disney premieres our Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. And Kathy Bates is back on Matlock.

Some exciting series, including the fan-favorite franchise FBI, are premiering this week. Here’s what’s new on TV for January 26 – February 1.

NEW ON TV, JANUARY 26 – FEBRUARY 1

January 26 – Watson

If the Sherlock Holmes world intrigues you and you’re always looking for more, CBS is bringing its own twist to this world by creating Watson. The series, led by Morris Chestnut, focuses on Dr. John Watson months after the death of his friend Sherlock Holmes. As he returns to his clinic to treat rare diseases, Watson’s old life catches up to him and threatens everything he has built. The show also includes Tommy O’Brien, Eve Harlow and Inga Schlingmann. 

Watson premieres Sunday, January 26th at 10/9c on CBS.

January 27 – The Catch

Acorn TV is bringing a British television show to America with the premiere of The Catch. Based on the book by T.M. Logan, the show tells the story of a fisherman who is very curious about his daughter’s new boyfriend. While he has concerns about the new boyfriend’s life and whether or not he is telling the truth, the fisherman teams up with his daughter’s ex-boyfriend to find out the truth. Jason Watkins plays the fisherman and Aneurin Barnard is the new boyfriend, Ryan.

The Catch premieres in the US on Monday, January 27 at 3/2 am on Acorn TV.

January 27 – NCIS / NCIS: Origins

The NCIS franchise is back this week, starting with the OG show. NCISSeason 22 returns with its 10th episode when the team discovers the owner of Parker’s favorite bakery is being blackmailed. As they plan how to help her, Torres’s secret romance is discovered. Shortly after, NCIS: Origins returns with Season 1 Episode 11. The team looks into the death of a marine commander’s son as Frank’s past is revealed.

NCIS Season 22 returns Monday, January 27 at 9/8c on CBS, followed by NCIS: Origins at 10/9c.

January 28 – Paradise

Sterling K. Brown is back in action on Hulu’s Paradise. The cast will also include James Marsden and Julianne Nicholson. The new series follows a security service team that is tasked with protecting a former president. As Xavier Collins is relaxing in paradise, he discovers one of the most powerful people in the world has been murdered.

Paradise premieres Tuesday, January 28 at Midnight/11c on Hulu.

January 28 – FBI / FBI: International / FBI: Most Wanted

Another big franchise is back this week with three new episodes. FBI returns for Season 7 as the team investigates the death of an assistant US attorney. As the investigation goes on, they discover a whistleblower scandal and the possibility of several terrorist attacks on commercial airplanes. Afterward, FBI: International returns for Season 4 when a team member goes missing in Paris as they continue to search for Greg Csonka. And finally, FBI: Most Wanted is back for Season 6 with the task force looking into several deadly fires related to a 1985 bombing while Nina’s sister shows up for help.

FBI Season 7 returns Tuesday, January 28 at 8/7c on CBS, followed by FBI: International at 9/8c and FBI: Most Wanted at 10/9c.

January 29 – Mythic Quest

Rob McElhenney, Charlotte Nicdao, David Hornsby, Danny Pudi, Ashly Burch, Imani Hakim, Jessie Ennis and Naomi Ekperigin are back for Season 4 of Mythic Quest. The team is back, facing new challenges in the video game landscape with stars that rise, egos that clash, relationships that begin and people trying to find a balance between their personal and professional lives. This season of the show will set the mood for the sequel, Side Quest, premiering March 26.

Mythic Quest Season 4 premieres Wednesday, January 29 at Midnight/11c on Apple TV+.

January 29 – Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

Spider-Man’s story has seen the light of day in many forms with several different actors portraying him or giving voice to the character. Now, Disney+ takes a chance on it with the new series, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. The animated series will tell the story of Peter Parker as he begins his journey to becoming a hero. The goal of the show is to celebrate who the character was in the beginning of the comic books.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man premieres Wednesday, January 29 at 3/2 am on Disney+.

January 30 – Mo

Mo is the story of an immigrant looking for asylum. The second season of the show finds Mo stuck at the border, needing to get back to Houston for his asylum hearing. Because he has no passport, he will have to do everything in his power to make it across the border on time. Meanwhile, a new guy has come into town trying to steal his love and his falafel taco recipe.

Mo Season 2 premieres Thursday, January 30 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

January 30 – The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse

With 152 published chapters of Four Knights of Apocalypse manga, the second season of the show will follow the events leading up to Chaos in Liones Arc. For fans of the manga, this means that 50 more chapters will be transformed from page to screen. The season will focus on the aftermath of the Demon King’s defeat, the revelation of Chaos and Arthur’s awakening.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse Season 2 premieres Thursday, January 30 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

January 30 – Ghosts

Everyone’s favorite Ghosts are back for the remainder of Season 4. Even though the silent investor has been holding up construction well, Sam and Jay have to come up with a cover as Mark demands to meet them. This will only lead to more hilarious chaos.

Ghosts Season 4 returns Thursday, January 30 at 8:30/7:30c on CBS.

January 30 – Matlock

CBS continues with the mid-season premieres at Kathy Bates returns to Matlock. Season 1 Episode 9 finds Matty helping Olympia as she handles Elijah’s cousin’s wrongful termination case. Meanwhile, Edwin begins to worry about Matty. The longer she stays at Jacobson Moore, the more she is in danger of being caught.

Matlock Season 1 returns Thursday, January 30 at 9/8c on CBS.

January 30 – Elsbeth

The final mid-season return of the week belongs to Elsbeth. Season 2 Episode 9 focuses on Elsbeth trying to solve the case of a young man found dead in his car. The investigation leads her to a holistic wellness center where she begins to suspect the founder may have had something to do with the young man’s death.

Elsbeth Season 2 returns Thursday, January 30 at 10/9c on CBS.

January 31 – NCIS: Sydney

If two NCIS shows coming back this week aren’t enough, NCIS: Sydney is kicking off its second season. The first episode will find Special Agent DeShawn Jackson as the boss on his very first day. To make things even more complicated for him, the team must investigate a rogue assassin. Olivia Swann, Todd Lasance, Sean Sagar and Mavournee Hazel are part of this spin-off’s cast.

NCIS: Sydney Season 2 premieres Friday, January 31 at 8/7c on CBS.

January 31 – Lucca’s World

If you’re looking for a movie that will go straight to your heart, Netflix is premiering Lucca’s World. The Mexican movie is based on Barbara Anderson’s book and tells the story of the mother of a boy born with cerebral palsy. Barbara has decided that she will do whatever it takes to make sure her son thrives in this world. The next step in helping Lucca is to make sure the family can travel to India for an experimental therapy that might help him.

Lucca’s World premieres Friday, January 31 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

February 1 – Can You Feel the Beat: The Lisa Lisa Story

Before there was Selena and Jennifer Lopez, another Puerto Rican girl fought every odd against her, including a hidden breast cancer diagnosis, to become the first Latina in the Billboard charts. Lifetime’s movie, Can You Feel the Beat: The Lisa Lisa Story, tells the story of Lisa Velez and the sexism and racism she faced throughout her career. The film will also focus on her friendship with Toni Ménage, her backup singer, and how this bond helped them push through in the entertainment business.

Can You Feel the Beat: The Lisa Lisa Story premieres Saturday, February 1 at 8/7c on Lifetime.
