The second trailer for the upcoming fourth season of Sherlock has been released. The tone of the trailer matches the teaser that was released recently. Ominous, intense and actually quite scary, we see Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) having a crisis of sorts. Not many details have been released about the 3-episode season called “The Six Thatchers”. We know that Toby Jones will be playing a villain. We’ve seen teases of Moriarty re-appearing – as a ghost, a figment in Sherlock’s imagination, in the flesh? We also know that Mary and John Watson (Amanda Abbington and Martin Freeman) are expanding their family. The bits and pieces we have been shown however do much to build excitement, with a little side of terror, for the upcoming season.
Sherlock waits to see where Moriarty will make his posthumous move. One mysterious case in particular baffles Scotland Yard – but Sherlock is more interested in a seemingly-trivial detail. Why is someone destroying images of the late Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher? Is there a madman on the loose? Or is there a much darker purpose at work? Season 4 of Sherlock returns with “The Six Thatchers” January 1, 2017 on Masterpiece on PBS.
