Michelle.
That’s the name they’ve been giving us for Zendaya’s character in the currently-filming Spider-Man: Homecoming, out from Sony and Marvel next Summer.
However, as a rumor out of The Wrap suggests, it seems that maybe Michelle is not her name, but is, in fact —
Mary Jane Parker.
As the report says, “Zendaya will be playing long-time Spider-Man love interest Mary Jane Watson in next summer’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, two individuals with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.”
For the comic book uninitiated, Mary Jane Parker is one of the biggest, most well known supporting cast for the web-slinger. For the majority of Peter Parker’s life, she was his biggest crush, love interest and eventually wife. She went on to become a famous actress and then super model.
Other than that, there are no details other than that reveal. As The Wrap claims, “At the time, no further details were provided about her character or whether it would the romantic lead opposite Holland.”
