Disney has moved up the release date for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil from May 2020 to October 2019. The sequel is the follow up to 2014’s Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning.
The 2014 live action movie put a different spin to the Disney classic Sleeping Beauty, telling the story from Maleficent’s point of view. Maleficent and Princess Aurora form a friendship, allowing the fairy world and the human world to live in peace. In Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Maleficent and Aurora must work together when faced with a new threat to the fairy realm.
Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, and Lesley Manville are returning to reprise their roles from the first film. New additions to the cast include, Michelle Pfeiffer, Harris Dickinson, Chitwetel Ejiofor, Ed Skrein, and Robert Lindsay.
