Are you hyped for Ready Player One? I sure am. And this new poster has me even more excited for the film. Not only does it embrace its 80s pop culture love but it gives us a look at all our characters. Are you ready for going easter egg hunting?

In this poster provided by EW, we see that it’s very clearly influenced from the 80s. More specifically it has a loving tribute to Drew Struzan‘s work. He created movie posters for Big Trouble in Little China, Back to the Future, Blade Runner and many more. Check out their posters and check back with this one to see just how influenced it is! But what’s most exciting about the poster is that it features all of our main characters. And I mean all of them!

We have both human and avatar forms of the top 5 players – Wade Owen Watts / Parzival (Tye Sheridan), Samantha Evelyn Cook / Art3mis (Olivia Cooke), Aech (Lena Waithe), Daito (Win Morisaki), and Shoto (Philip Zhao). We also see a younger version of the OASIS creators James Halliday (Mark Rylance) and Ogden Morrow (Simon Pegg). There’s just so much to unpack here! We have a Gundam, the Bigfoot monster truck, the Iron Giant and more. All while Anorak (Halliday’s avatar) watches on in mystical glory and his golden easter egg takes center stage.

Frankly, I love this poster. The clear tribute to Struzan is great because it gives you the instant feeling of nostalgia when looking at it. The only question I have is who the avatar is under Bigfoot. I want to assume it’s Nolan Sorrento’s (Ben Mendelsohn) but he only has a company avatar. Perhaps it’s T.J. Miller‘s i-R0k? We’ll have to wait and see! In the meantime, let’s all give a Breakfast Club fist in the air along with Wade!

Check out the poster below and let us know what you think! Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more news from the Oasis. Ready Player One will be in theaters March 30th (or 29th, according to the poster).
