The trailer for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies begins with perfect, apropos music for a Jane Austen film. The dresses, the hair, the beauty – all perfect. You know what else is perfect? The zombies! The killing of the zombies in the dresses, the hair and the beauty!
The novel Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is a fantastic read. The book was written by Seth Grahame-Smith (and of course Jane Austen) and the screenplay was adapted by Burr Steers. Genre fans will be excited to see Matt Smith (Doctor Who), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones, Childhood’s End) and Lena Heady (Game of Thrones) in the film but in the lead role, Elizabeth Bennet, is the wonderful Lily James (Downton Abbey, Cinderella) who has such a wonderful screen presence that you can’t help but to love her plus she is all kinds of badass in this trailer.
Here’s the official synopsis: Jane Austen’s classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England is faced with a new challenge — an army of undead zombies.
The film is set to release in February 2016.
