Welcome to another edition of What’s New on TV. Several shows and movies are premiering this week, including some great animated series. 

Like Water for Chocolate and Pedro Paramo are being transformed from books into a Max series and a Netflix movie. Meet Me Next Christmas and Santa Tell Me are here to get the holiday spirit going. And Invincible Fighting Girl and Arcane premiere new seasons for animation fans.

Some exciting shows, including those inspired by literature, are also premiering. Here’s what’s new on TV for November 3-9. 

NEW ON TV, NOVEMBER 3-9

November 3 – Like Water for Chocolate

When Laura Esquivel wrote Como agua para chocolate, she could have never imagined one day, her book would be turned into a TV series. The story follows the love affair between Tita and Pedro as it gets complicated because of her family’s traditions. Tita is forced to navigate a world of flavors and magic in the kitchen while fighting for the love she so deeply wants.

Like Water for Chocolate premieres Sunday, November 3 at 3/2 am on MAX.

November 3 – Invincible Fight Girl

If animated series are your thing, Adult Swim’s newest show might be perfect for you. Andy’s biggest dream is to train with legendary wrestler Quesa Poblana. However, her dream is crushed, and instead, she must accompany Craig to the county fair, hoping to find a new teacher. That is where she meets a boy in need of help.

Invincible Fight Girl premieres Sunday, November 3 at Midnight/11c on Adult Swim.

November 6 – Meet Me Next Christmas

Kofi Siriboe, Christina Milian and Devale Ellis are bringing the Christmas spirit to Netflix in their newest movie, Meet Me Next Christmas. The film follows a woman traveling across New York City to find a ticket to a sold-out Pentatonix concert. Her dreams of meeting the man of her dreams and her passion for romance are the fuel that keeps her going.

Meet Me Next Christmas premieres Wednesday, November 6 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

November 6 – Pedro Páramo

Like Water for Chocolate isn’t the only book taken to the small screen this week. Pedro Páramo becomes a Netflix movie based on Juan Rulfo’s book, following the story of a man searching for his father in a town brought to pieces by violence and frustrated love. For fans of The Lincoln Lawyer, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo plays Pedro Páramo.

Pedro Páramo premieres Wednesday, November 6 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

November 7 – Citadel: Honey Bunny

In 2023, Prime Video premiered Citadel, a series about spies. This week, the same streaming platform premieres Citadel: Honey Bunny, a new series belonging to the same franchise. Many years ago, Bunny, a stuntman, recruited Honey, a struggling actress, for a side gig. Now, their past catches up to them, and they must come together to protect their daughter from the danger that chases them.

Citadel: Honey Bunny premieres Thursday, November 7 at Midnight/11c on Prime Video.

November 7 – Outer Banks

Fans of Outer Banks will be happy to know that Season 4 Part 2 premieres this week. Poguelandia 2.0 faces major financial setbacks, so the group must take Wes up on his offer and fall back into the game for a new adventure. Can they handle it? Or will their new enemies be too much for them?

Outer Banks Season 4 Part 2 premieres Thursday, November 7 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

November 8 – Bank Under Siege

If Spanish TV shows like La Casa de Papel are your cup of tea, Bank Under Siege might become your newest favorite series. Hovik Keuchkerian, Maria Pedraza and Miguel Herran are some of the leading names on Netflix’s newest show, set in Barcelona in 1981. The series tells the story of a bank robbery in the Central Bank of Barcelona and how this event challenged Spain’s democracy.

Bank Under Siege premieres Friday, November 8 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

November 8 – Investigation Alien

Last week, Netflix gave us The Manhattan Alien Abduction. This week, we get Investigation Alien to keep the alien theme going. This docuseries follows George Knapp as he travels the world to investigate new evidence of UFOs on Earth. His goal is to reveal whether aliens are present on our planet or not.

Investigation Alien premieres Friday, November 8 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

November 8 – Mr. Plankton

Woo Do-hwan, Lee You-mi and Oh Jung-se star in the newest Korean comedy, Mr. Plankton. The show tells the story of a man surrounded by misfortune and his ex, an unlucky bride-to-be, as they accompany each other during the final journey of his life.

Mr. Plankton premieres Friday, November 8 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

November 9 – Arcane

Fan favorite Arcane is back for its second and final season. The goodbye to fans will be split into three acts, premiering November 9, 16 and 23. The second season starts right where it left off: the aftermath of Jinx launching a stolen Hextech gemstone at the Piltover council. Jinx knows her decision was reckless and will come between her and her sister.

Arcane Season 2 premieres Saturday, November 9 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

November 9 – Santa Tell Me

Of course, Hallmark has more Christmas movies coming out this week. Erin Krakow, Daniel Lissing, Benjamin Ayres, Christopher Russell and Kurt Szarka are the leading names of Santa Tell Me. The movie follows an interior designer who finds an old letter from Santa promising she will meet the love of her life (a man named Nick) on Christmas Eve. She is surprised when she meets three guys named Nick but even more surprised when her quest gets thrown off by her charming co-worker who isn’t named Nick.

Santa Tell Me premieres Saturday, November 9 at 8/7c on Hallmark Channel.
