Welcome to another edition of What’s New on TV. This week, Law & Order is back in action with Season 24 and then Season 26 of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Get ready for what’s new on TV because things are about to get good.

Cameron Diaz is back onscreen alongside Jamie Foxx in Back in Action. Harley Quinn and Ivy’s relationship continues on Harley Quinn Season 5. And Hallmark Channel is releasing a movie set in Argentina, My Argentine Heart.

Some exciting series, including one returning after three years, are premiering this week. Here’s what’s new on TV for January 5-11.

NEW ON TV, JANUARY 12-18

January 14 – St. Denis Medical

NBC’s newest workplace comedy is back this week. St. Denis Medical returns to finish its first season on a high note. Season 1 Episode 7 finds Serena trying to help Bruce with his fear of needles. Meanwhile, Ron makes fun of Alex and Matt as they try to resolve a conflict between two prison inmates. All the while, Joyce is focused on the burly prison guard.

St. Denis Medical Season 1 returns Tuesday, January 14 at 8/7c on NBC.

January 14 – Night Court

Night Court is also back with its mid-season premiere this week. Abby finds herself fascinated by the fact that Mayim Bialik appears in the courtroom on Season 3 Episode 5. However, as things move along, she begins to wonder if there’s actually something more sinister going on. Meanwhile, Dan focuses his attention on trapping a man who is guilty of forgoing basic etiquette.

Night Court Season 3 returns Tuesday, January 14 at 8:30/7:30c on NBC.

January 15 – Public Disorder 

International series have done great on Netflix, and now it’s Italy’s turn to try its luck with Public Disorder. The show will follow the stories of the members of a riot squad. Each episode will focus on their struggles as they try to balance their personal lives with the tension that rises every time they work on the streets.

Public Disorder premieres Wednesday, January 17 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

January 15 – Scam Goddess

Laci Mosley is a comedian and podcaster whose expertise is uncovering scams. Now, she decides to go on the road, visiting small towns and big cities to uncover swindles and cons. To do so, she meets with whistleblowers, victims, and scammers who share their stories. Scam Goddess follows Mosley as she reveals Ponzi schemes and religious scammers.

Scam Goddess premieres Wednesday, January 15 at 10/9c on Freeform.

January 16 – Castlevania: Nocturne

Premieres and returning shows fans will be happy to know that Thursday, January 16, is going to get really busy. Castlevania: Nocturne fans will be thrilled the show is returning for its second season. After the emotional and physical changes the characters faced during Season 1, they will find themselves in a race against time during Season 2. Erzsebet Báthory, the Vampire Messiah, is seeking the full power of Sekhmet so she can turn the world into a dark place.

Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 premieres Thursday, January 16 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

January 16 – Harley Quinn

If the lack of sapphic representation frustrates you, you will want to tune in for the return of Harley Quinn Season 5. The new season will find Harley and Ivy as they move to Metropolis. They will discover that big threats, such as Lex and Lena Luthor, are everywhere. Brainiac also makes an appearance as Harley and her crew of misfits join their forces on an irreverent journey.

Harley Quinn Season 5 premieres Thursday, January 16 at 3/2 am on MAX.

January 16 – XO, Kitty

Kitty believes her second semester at KISS will be perfect. She is single and ready to start casual dating without worrying about her love life or any drama. However, things take a turn when a letter from her mother’s past pushes her on a journey she will never forget. Secrets are revealed, and new faces join Kitty’s life, making it more complicated than she expected.

XO, Kitty Season 2 premieres Thursday, January 16 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

January 16 – Law & Order / Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

Tony Goldwyn and Mariska Hargitay are back onscreen this week to get the gears of the Law & Order franchise turning for 2025. Law & Order returns with Season 24 Episode 9, as Shaw and Riley work the case of a young man being pushed in front of a train. As the case goes to trial, Price has to find a way to convince Baxter to testify about the legislation he wrote and the way it’s been abused. Afterward, a woman sees a video of a night she can’t remember on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 26 Episode 9. While Carisi takes the suspect to trial, everything takes a turn when the suspect changes his plea.

Law & Order Season 24 returns Thursday, January 16 at 8/7c on NBC, followed by Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 26 at 9/8c.

January 16 – Found

M&A helps the girlfriend of a missing recovering drug addict when Found returns for the second half of its second season. Meanwhile, Sir discovers a big secret surrounding one of M&A’s allies as one of the team members is injured.

Found Season 2 returns Thursday, January 16 at 10/9c on NBC.

January 17 – Severance

The biggest premiere of the week is Severance Season 2. The show returns to its fans for the first time in nearly three years. For those wondering what will happen next, they must know that the romance between Mark and Helly will continue to grow. While people will be rooting for this romance to grow, they will be conflicted, wanting him to find his wife as well. Besides that, answers need to be given about Lumon faking Ms. Casey’s death.

Severance Season 2 premieres Friday, January 17 at Midnight/11c on Apple TV+.

January 17 – Back in Action

The biggest return of the week, however, is Cameron Diaz’s to the screen. The actor’s last movie was Annie in 2014. Now, 11 years later, she shares the screen with Jamie Foxx in Netflix’s Back in Action. The movie tells the story of two former CIA spies who are pulled back into their old lives as their secret identities are revealed.

Back in Action premieres Friday, January 17 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

January 18 – My Argentine Heart

Back on its non-holiday theme, Hallmark Channel continues to bring love stories to the small screen. Julie Gonzalo and Juan Pablo Di Pace are the stars of the newest movie, My Argentine Heart. The film follows Abril as she returns to Argentina to keep her ex from buying her family’s ranch. However, when other forces threaten the ranch, the two must come together to save it.

My Argentine Heart premieres Saturday, January 18 at 8/7c on Hallmark Channel.
