Welcome to another edition of What’s New on TV. The Christmas spirit is definitely around this week, with several holiday movies premiering. Get ready because things are about to get good.
Video game lovers will have plenty to talk about this week with the premiere of Secret Level. Angelina Jolie fans will be happy to know her first movie in three years, Maria, is coming to Netflix this week. And Christmas fans can watch the happy couple Jennifer Love Hewitt and Brian Hallisay in The Holiday Junkie.
Some exciting series, including MAX’s Bookie, are premiering this week. Here’s what’s new on TV for December 8-14.
NEW ON TV, DECEMBER 8-4
December 8 – How to Fall in Love by Christmas
Teri Hatcher and Dan Payne come together for Lifetime’s newest Christmas movie, How to Fall in Love by Christmas. Nora used to be a writer, but now she is a successful CEO who runs her own lifestyle brand. Her Christmas wish is to partner with Take To Heart, but she will only secure the partnership by writing a column on falling in love by Christmas. She will have help from a photographer assigned to the piece.

December 8 – Leah’s Perfect Gift
Of course, the holiday season continues on Hallmark Channel with more Christmas-centered movies. Leah’s Perfect Gift includes a cast led by Emily Arlook, Evan Roderick and Barbara Niven. The film tells the story of a Christmas lover who has never taken part in the holiday celebration because of her Jewish upbringing. This year, Leah’s boyfriend invites her to Connecticut to spend Christmas with his family. However, as exciting as this invitation is for Leah, things get tricky when she meets her boyfriend’s mom.
Leah’s Perfect Gift premieres Sunday, December 8 at 8/7c on Hallmark Channel.
December 10 – Secret Level
Prime Video has a new exciting project premiering this week by the creators of Love, Death + Robots. Secret Level is a new series showcasing short stories based on different video games. The anthology will include dragons, gods, robots and space heists to honor the video game creators and players.
Secret Level premieres Tuesday, December 10 at Midnight/11c on Prime Video.

December 11 – Dream Productions
If, like many Inside Out fans, you can’t get enough of Riley’s inner life, Disney+ has the perfect limited series. Whether watching with the children in your life or on your own, this series will bring Joy (pun intended) to your life. Dream Productions tells the story of what happens with the Core Emotions. Night dreams director Paula Persimmon must face the challenge of working with Xeni, a daydream director who dreams of taking over the night.
Dream Productions premieres Wednesday, December 11 at 3/2 am on Disney+.
December 11 – Maria
After a three-year movie hiatus, Angelia Jolie is back leading Pablo Larraín’s newest film, Maria. The movie is the third installment in Larraín’s series, focusing on different famous women. Maria tells the story of a legendary opera singer as the director reimagines her last days. The film was celebrated by critics in various film festivals and now comes to viewers around the world through Netflix.
Maria premieres Wednesday, December 11 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

December 11 – One Hundred Years of Solitude
This seems to be the year in which many Latin American books are turned into films or TV shows. Cien años de soledad by Gabriel García Márquez is coming to Netflix as a series. One Hundred Years of Solitude will tell the story of the Buendía family in Macondo. Both the book and the TV show navigate themes of love, oblivion and fate.

December 12 – Bookie
Sebastian Maniscalco, Omar J. Dorsey, Jorge Garcia, Andrea Anders and Vanessa Ferlito are back for another season of Bookie. The show will continue to explore the life of a bookie as he navigates the new reality and challenges of his job and his personal life with sports gambling legalization.
Bookie Season 2 premieres Thursday, December 12 at 3/2 am on MAX.

December 12 – No Good Deed
Netflix has assembled the perfect cast for its newest series, No Good Deed. The ensemble includes Lisa Kudrow, Ray Romano, Linda Cardellini, Abbi Jacobson, Denis Leary and Luke Wilson. The show tells the story of three families competing against each other to purchase a 1920 Spanish-style villa in the hopes that it will solve all their problems.
No Good Deed premieres Thursday, December 12 at 3/2 am on Netflix.
December 13 – Dexter: Original Sin
11 years after the ending of Dexter, Paramount+ is bringing its spin-off to life. Dexter: Original Sin will give viewers an insight into how Dexter became the man fans have come to know worldwide. The series takes place in 1991 when Dexter goes from being a student to a serial killer. After spending a long time controlling his urges, he begins to follow his father’s advice by only killing people who deserve to be eliminated. The cast includes Christian Slater, Patrick Gibson, Molly Brown, Patrick Dempsey and Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Dexter: Original Sin premieres Friday, December 13 at 3/2 am on Paramount+.

December 13 – Disaster Holiday
Are you a fan of the 2006 Robin Williams movie RV? Then you might be interested in Netflix’s spin on the story with its movie Disaster Holiday. Like RV, the film follows the story of a workaholic father who tries to get in his children’s good graces by planning a road trip. His family doesn’t know that the journey to the coast of Durban is actually a work meeting.

December 13 – Disaster Holiday
If you haven’t had a chance to watch the Elton John documentary, now is the time. Disney+ will premiere Elton John: Never Too Late this week. This original documentary reflects on the musician’s 50-year career and everything he went through. He talks about adversity, abuse and addiction as he prepares for his final concert.

December 13 – If I Go Missing
Are you a true crime fan? Then you might find yourself represented in Tubi’s newest original movie, If I Go Missing. The film tells the story of a true crime fanatic obsessed with the neighborhood killer. After her best friend disappears, she makes it her life goal to find whoever is behind the killings and disappearances.
If I Go Missing premieres Friday, December 13 at 3/2 am on Tubi.
December 14 – The Holiday Junkie
After working together on The Client List and 9-1-1, husband and wife Jennifer Love Hewitt and Brian Hallisay join forces again for a Christmas movie. The Holiday Junkie is the story of Andie, the owner of a holiday decorating and planning company. Andie led the company with her mother, Mimi, but now that Mimi has passed away, Andie must do everything on her own. This is the first Christmas she will be working without her mom, but love will find a way to cheer her on.
The Holiday Junkie premieres Saturday, December 14 at 8/7c on Lifetime.

December 14 – The Santa Class
Kate North has to take over her father’s Santa School. As she tries to find a way to help the struggling school, she and her new co-worker encounter the real Santa without his memories. To help him recover his memories and remember who he truly is, they invite him to join the school. Kimberley Sustad and Benjamin Ayres lead the movie’s cast.
