Welcome to another edition of What’s New on TV. This week, plenty of movies are premiering to keep those on a school or work break entertained. Get ready because things are about to get good.
The Dragon Prince is back on Netflix this week for Season 7. The Simpsons premiere a special Christmas episode on Disney+. Kerry Washington also produces and stars in The Six Triple Eight.
Some exciting series, including the sixth season of Virgin River, are premiering this week. Here’s what’s new on TV for December 15-21.
NEW ON TV, DECEMBER 15-21
December 15 – Christmas on the Alpaca Farm
Jess leaves her fashion job in NYC to follow her heart and create a line of sustainable luxury knits. The next big step in her career is entering a Christmas competition that she believes she can win as the Queen of Christmas Sweaters. To get it done, she joins forces with an alpaca farmer, but things turn more romantic than she expected. Kristen Comerford and Matt Wells star in Christmas on the Alpaca Farm.
Christmas on the Alpaca Farm premieres Sunday, December 15 at 8/7c on Lifetime.

December 15 – Following Yonder Star
After being a beloved mother on TV, Abby Marshall recludes herself to Vermont for Christmas as her life falls apart. Due to a booking error, Abby finds her room at the hotel has been given to another guest. The only room she can find is at a B&B owned by a high school teacher in charge of the local church’s Christmas pageant. Tom lets Abby stay at the inn, and in return, she helps with the pageant, which might change her life forever. Brooke D’Orsay and John Brotherton star in Hallmark’s newest film.
Following Yonder Star premieres Sunday, December 15 at 8/7c on Hallmark Channel.
December 17 – The Simpsons: O C’mon All Ye Faithful
The Simpsons fans will be shocked to know this year’s holiday special will be released on Disney+ instead of FOX. “O C’mon All Ye Faithful” is a double episode focusing on a mentalist visiting Springfield for the holidays. Using one of his tricks, the mentalist hypnotizes Homer, making him believe he is Santa Claus. This holiday special will include music from Patti LaBelle and Pentatonix.
The Simpsons’ “O C’mon All Ye Faithful” premieres Tuesday, December 17 at 3/2 am on Disney+.

December 18 – Swipe Left or Death
If you’re looking for a true crime this week, Tubi has the perfect documentary for you. Swipe Left or Death will share the stories of different people who became victims after using online dating apps. Some of the stories resulted in deadly dangers with terrible consequences.
Swipe Left or Death premieres Wednesday, December 18 at 3/2 am on Tubi.
December 19 – The Dragon Prince
Netflix’s The Dragon Prince is coming back for another season this week. This season, one of the evil characters wants to bring eternal night by unleashing the spirits of the dead. Everyone’s favorite trio is getting ready to put their defenses up and fight the evil as they have been doing for many seasons.
The Dragon Prince Season 7 premieres Thursday, December 19 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

December 19 – Laid
Stephanie Hsu leads the cast of Peacock’s newest comedy, which includes Zosia Mamet, Michael Angarano and Tommy Martinez. Laid tells the story of a woman who discovers her former lovers are dying of unusual causes. To find out what is going on, she must go back through her sex timeline, fighting the fact that she can’t fight love because the problem really is her.
Laid premieres Thursday, December 19 at 3/2 am on Peacock.
December 19 – Virgin River
For those Virgin River fans who have been looking forward to Mel and Jack’s wedding, they’ll be happy to know Season 6 is all about the lead-up to that perfect moment. The season picks up five months after the ending of Season 5 in the middle of springtime. Between dress shopping and wedding planning, these characters will go through some challenges that will hopefully lead them to their happy ending.
Virgin River Season 6 premieres Thursday, December 19 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

December 20 – Adopted
If the holiday spirit gets to be too much and you’re looking for something different, Tubi has the movie for you. Christ Stokes’s Adopted premieres this week with Drew Sidora, Daniel J. Johnson, Shalet Monique and many more. The film tells the story of a couple who believes they have adopted the perfect child. However, as the days go by, their son begins to reveal a dark side that opens the door for terror to take over their lives.
Adopted premieres Friday, December 20 at 3/2 am on Tubi.
December 20 – Ferry 2
Netflix is also bringing Ferry 2 this week. The cast of the movie includes Frank Lammers, Aiko Mila Beemsterboer and Tobias Kersloot. The film tells the story of Ferry Bouman. Once he has finally found his peace far away from Brabant’s criminal underworld and the loss of his drug empire, his past comes back to haunt him. Will he go back to his old ways?
Ferry 2 premieres Friday, December 20 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

December 20 – The Six Triple Eight
Kerry Washington is the star and producer of Netflix’s The Six Triple Eight. The movie tells the true story of the only Women’s Army Corps unit of color stationed overseas throughout World War II. Many people had no idea this unit existed or what they did during the war, so the movie looks to shine a light on this and remember these women with the respect they deserve.
The Six Triple Eight premieres Friday, December 20 at 3/2 am on Netflix.
December 21 – A Carpenter Christmas
Sasha Pieterse and Mitchell Slaggert lead the cast of Lifetime’s A Carpenter Christmas Romance. Pieterse plays Andrea, a novelist who must escape her fans’ anger when they discover she might kill their favorite character. She decides to hide in her family’s farmhouse and explore the town. That is when she runs into her ex-crush, a woodworker helping rebuild the town. Maybe this escape is the best thing that could have happened to Andrea.
A Carpenter Christmas Romance premieres Sunday, December 21 at 8/7c on Lifetime.

December 21 – Happy Howlidays
When Mia encounters a stray dog during her holiday season alone, she also crosses paths with Max. While Max helps her handle the situation with the dog, they also begin to explore the hidden gems of Seattle. But as the days go by, the two begin to find comfort in each other, making this a holiday season to remember.
Happy Howlidays premieres Saturday, December 21 at 8/7c on Hallmark Channel.
