After two years of uncertainty, we finally have a new trailer for New Mutants, based on the Marvel, X-Men comic by Bill Sienkiewicz. 20th Century Fox released the trailer on Monday morning for the long awaited film that will be shown in its original cut. Director Josh Boone described the film to Entertainment Weekly as “Stephen King meets John Hughes.”
Boone brings the story of the New Mutants to the big screen with some familiar faces. Blu Hunt plays Danielle Moonstar. After a fatal accident Danielle is sent to a secret psychiatric facility. She meets Rahne Sinclair/Wolfsbane (Maisie Williams), Sam Guthrie/Canonball (Charlie Heaton), Roberto da Costa/Sunspot (Henry Zaga) and Illyana Rasputin/Magik (Anya Taylor-Joy).
The teens know they have powers, but fear what they can do. Although it seems like the people at the hospital want to help, the teens find out differently. Push comes to shove, the powers are the only thing that’s going to save them.
New Mutants also stars Alice Braga and Antonio Banderas in an undisclosed role. Check out the trailer below.
