Maleficent: Mistress of Evil

Angelina Jolie reminds us of what evil looks like in latest trailer for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil today. Jolie and Elle Fanning return in this sequel to the 2014 film Maleficent

Always the protector, Maleficent is not excited about Princess Aurora pending nuptials to Prince Phillip (Harrison Dickson), telling Aurora that “love doesn’t always end well.” It would probably take a little time to convince her, but Aurora would have succeeded in doing so if it weren’t for Queen Ingrith (Michelle Pfeiffer). The Queen thanks Maleficent for taking such good care of Aurora, but now, she will be her mother. That sets off Maleficent who calls off the wedding and attacks the King’s guard.

It’s obvious that Queen Ingrith is after something. She has a sinister look about her when she hugs Aurora. Of course it takes no time for Ingrith and Maleficent to go to battle. Even Aurora’s pleas for Maleficent to stop don’t help. What does help is an arrow to Maleficent’s torso, that should have killed her. But she was saved by others just like her. They tell her its time for her to care for her own.

Wow! I’m excited. Jolie vs Pfeiffer is going to be epic! I think I’m more interested in what Ingrith is after. It has to be something that only Aurora can give her. And what about Chiwetel Ejiofor?!  There is no listing of his character’s name, but he looks amazing in the trailer. There’s just so much to look forward to in this movie!.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil also stars Juno Temple, Imelda Staunton, Lesley Manville, Sam Riley, Robert Lindsey, and Ed SkreinJoachim Rønning directed the film, written by Micah Fitzerman-Blue, Noah Harpster, and Linda Woolverton
