Wow. Just… wow.
This promotional video for the next season of Fox’s hit series, Gotham, really paints this to be a series you will absolutely NOT want to miss. There really are so many villains coming to the series that will make it a lot of fun to watch.
First of all, they are really building Selina Kyle, who grows up into Catwoman, in a beautiful way, watching her trying to walk the line between light and dark. As the actress that portrays her, Camren Bicondova, says, “She’s trying to figure out whether she belongs with the good guys or the bad guys.” It seems, at least for now, that she’s choosing the bad guys as she’s sitting at the same table as Oswald Cobblepot, the Penguin.
We also have the promise, from Robin Lord Taylor, of some more gang wars to be had, as well as the promise from Ben McKenzie, who plays Detective Jim Gordon that Arkham Asylum will start to take on the personality and character we all know from the comics, as a “breeding ground for these new super-villains, how people can enter into those facilities, somewhat messed up, and leave very VERY messed up.”
Then, finally, we’re seeing Edward Nygma growing into the super-villain genius that we know him to be from the comics — The Riddler. Apparently, that includes him having some issues with exceptional split personalities as he’s fighting a very twisted battle with himself.
And, by the way, in case you’re confused, when Ben McKenzie rattles off the villains we’ll meet and he says, “Doctor Strange,” he means Dr. Hugo Strange, one of Batman’s first villains and the first one to deduce Batman’s real identity of Bruce Wayne.
