Did someone say Gothic Horror Movie?
Crimson Peak is a horror movie from mastermind (yes, mastermind) Guillermo del Toro and based on this trailer, it’s going to deliver all the scares that del Toro is known for.
Crimson Peak takes place in the aftermath of a family tragedy. Set in Cumbria, in a very scary house, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds…and remembers.
The young author Edith Cushing (Mia Wasikowska) marries the charming and mysterious outsider Sir Thomas Sharpe (Tom Hiddleston) who is not who he appears to be. Of course!
The movie has an excellent cast. In addition to Hiddleston and Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain plays Lady Lucille Sharpe, Sir Thomas’s creepy and stern sister who seems like she knows all the secrets. Charlie Hunnam plays Edith’s childhood friend who is madly in love with her. Conflicts-a-plenty.
Also in the film are prolific actors Jim Beaver and Doug Jones. The film is set to release in October of this year.
