There are a lot of new books coming out every week. With New Release Radar, I’ll help you narrow down the week’s new book releases into the titles you should get excited about. I have seven books to share this week, including two sequels and a hilarious work of historical fiction. Read on.
Icarus by K. Ancrum
Icarus Gallagher, a skilled thief seeking revenge for his mother’s death, follows strict rules to keep his emotions in check. When his mark’s son Helios catches him in the act, he offers friendship instead of turning him in. As their bond grows, they uncover dark family secrets, forcing Icarus to choose between freedom and love amidst a web of family vendettas.
Combining an exciting heist with a story of star-crossed love, K. Ancrum’s new book release is a suspenseful queer YA romance. Icarus is perfect for fans of Adam Silvera and Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe.

The Feast Makers by H.A. Clarke
As Sideways and her friends try to go back to normal after getting their powers back, they’re drawn back into the trial of Madeline Kline. When Madeline asks for the Scapegracers’ help avoiding a cruel and unusual punishment, Sideways knows they have to get involved. Amidst the pressure to choose between loyalty and personal growth, the coven faces the allure of new magical families and the ongoing threat of witchfinders.
As the conclusion to The Scapegracers trilogy, The Feast Makers grapples with romance, college and the question of who deserves justice. H.A. Clarke wraps up the series in a glorious and satisfying way.
The Angel of Indian Lake by Stephen Graham Jones
Jade Daniels has been in prison for four years after taking the fall to protect her friend Letha, but she’s finally returning home to Proofrock, Idaho. But her town has changed in the time she’s been gone, now full of serial killer cultists and rich folks looking for an “authentic” Western experience. However, the town’s darkest secret, the curse of the Lake Witch, remains untouched until Jade’s return sparks the confrontation that will lead to the ultimate showdown.

Stephen Graham Jones’s new book release is a shocking and dark end to the Indian Lake Trilogy. The Angel of Indian Lake is both a love letter to horror movies and a powerful examination of generational trauma.
Glorious Exploits by Ferdia Lennon
Amid the Peloponnesian War on Sicily, Lampo and Gelon, two potters, entertain themselves by feeding Athenian prisoners if they can recite lines from Euripides’ works. Inspired, they decide to stage a full-blown production of Medea in the quarry. But as opening night approaches, they must navigate the difficulties of stagecraft alongside the hazards of war.
Both funny and moving, Glorious Exploits is an unexpectedly powerful look at the importance of art in times of struggle. Ferdia Lennon mixes absurdism with thought-provoking prose in a truly unique way.
Out of Left Field by Jonah Newman
Jonah, a history-loving ninth-grader with no athletic skills, surprises everyone by joining the baseball team. What they don’t know is that he has a crush on the cute shortstop, Elliot. For the rest of high school, Jonah must navigate challenges both on and off the field, confronting heteronormative expectations and discovering his true friends while learning to embrace his identity.

Ursula Villarreal-Moura’s new book release is a striking debut about power and fame told in a nuanced and original way. Told through a slow-burn dual narrative, readers will be thinking about Like Happiness long after they finish the book.
You’d Look Better as a Ghost by Joanna Wallace
The night after her father’s funeral, Claire meets Lucas in a bar. But this isn’t just a chance meeting. A mistyped email put Lucas in the sights of a vengeful serial killer. With her art career and personal life at stake, Claire must outmaneuver her adversaries in a deadly game of cat and mouse.
