The summer solstice has come and that means the season of summer is officially upon us. The temperatures are just going to keep climbing and the sun is going to start beating down with the fury and grace of the 8-bit yellow spiky orb in Nintendo‘s Super Mario Bros 3. The best advice we can give: lotion up with sunscreen when you go out, drink lots of water, and relax with Netflix when you decide to stay in. There are plenty of new options in July for the kids as well as the adults.
Our picks for July are below followed by the full list of what is coming and what is going. Which will you start with?
White Fang
First up, for the kids, White Fang! This is an animated film that originally premiered at the Sundance Film Festival before Netflix snatched it up. The story follows Jack London‘s novel by the same name, but with the twist that it is told from the dog’s perspective, unlike other film adaptations. During the Gold Rush, in the Yukon Territory of Canada, a boy’s father has disappeared. With the help of White Fang, a half-breed wolf, a boy searches for his missing father. The heartwarming tale premiers on Netflix on July 6th.
White Fang was directed by Alexandre Espigares (Visual Effects: Iron Man 3) and features the voice talents of Nick Offerman (The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part), Rashida Jones (Parks and Recreation), and Paul Giamatti (The Amazing Spider-Man 2).

Interview with the Vampire
Anne Rice‘s debut novel, Interview with the Vampire, received its Hollywood adaptation in 1994. Tom Cruise (Top Gun) and Brad Pitt (Deadpool 2) star in this vampire tale that is essentially a retelling of personal history from Louis (Pitt) as he speaks to a reporter in San Francisco (Christian Slater, Mr. Robot). These are not the new-aged vampires that sparkle in the sunlight; these are the blood thirsty, though beautifully luring, vampires from the tales of yore. There is death, murder, mayhem, betrayal, and pain. The dark-toned horror comes to Netflix on July 1st.
Interview with the Vampire is directed by Neil Jordan (The Borgias) and stars Tom Cruise, Bradd Pitt, Christian Slater, and Kirsten Dunst (Spider-Man), with Antonio Banderas (The New Mutants).

Jurassic Park Trilogy
The new dinosaur summer blockbuster, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, may be the second in a new trilogy opening in theaters on June 22, but the original film of the entire franchise, Jurassic Park, is coming to Netflix in July! Catch the beginning of the whole story as archaeologists Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill, Peaky Blinders) and Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern, Star Wars: The Last Jedi) are invited by John Hammond (Richard Attenborough, Miracle on 34th Street) to join Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum, Thor: Ragnarok) on a tour of Jurassic Park, the first and only animal theme park of its kind. Nestled on Isla Nublar, real life dinosaurs are housed in pens awaiting their debut to the public. Things don’t go exactly to plan as a hurricane shifts course and heads straight toward the island, though, and, well, things get interesting quickly. If there is a life lesson in this film, and the franchise that follows, it’s that scientists should let extinct predators remain extinct.
Jurassic Park, Lost World: Jurassic Park, and Jurassic Park III are all based on the novels by Michael Crichton. The current Jurassic World trilogy takes place in the same universe, on the same island, just decades later. Catch up with the original trilogy on Netflix on July 1st.
